GazaGenoLIE

"The term 'genocide', along with other international legal terms, has been deliberately and systematically hijacked, redefined, inverted and weaponized to demonize, delegitimize, and apply double standards to 'the Jews' among nations."
"This well-orchestrated campaign to spread a modern blood libel accusing Israel of 'genocide' began before any Israeli response to Hamas' genocidal war crimes and crimes against humanity of October 7."

A campaign has been launched naming itself the "Gaza GenoLIE", supported by over 35 organizations worldwide in a campaign they have joined for the purpose of debunking "Hamas genocidal propaganda" surrounding the war in Gaza. Organizations beside the International Legal Forum include the Anti-Defamation League, the Scholars for Peace in the Middle East, and the World Jewish Congress.

The claims of genocide were initiated on October 8, 2023, a day following the invasion of southern Israel from Gaza by Palestinian terrorist groups led by Hamas, when 1,200 Israelis, mostly civilian, were slaughtered. A somewhat precipitate accusation, given the reality that Israel's ground operation into Gaza began on October 27.

According to Amnesty International, a number of United Nations bodies and other international groups --their investigations have uncovered evidence that they claim validates the assertions that Israel committed genocide during the Gaza War. Bearing in mind that these very organizations are anything but neutral with respect to their accusations against the Jewish state.

For its part, Israel has repeatedly explained that its military has gone to extraordinary lengths that no other country in a war situation has ever committed to, in striving to limit civilian casualties. This is a war where it is well proven that Palestinian terrorist groups consider the Palestinian public expendable to their plans of attacking Israel and preparing for the response by using their civilian population as shields.

There is a double purpose in that tried-and-true strategy; the first being that using human shields results in the actual terrorists having the protection of soft bodies, and the second that those civilians -- all the better when women and particularly children are killed in the line of battle -- are welcome fodder for public relations campaigns that move the hearts and minds of Western democracies.

While acknowledging that some 70,000 people have perished in the war situation deliberately created by Hamas schemes to not only lethally assault Israeli civilian populations -- but to successfully sketch out a scenario naively believed in the West amenable to having its latent simmering antisemitism aroused by the accusations of Israeli 'genocide' against the forever-victims of Palestine -- their terrorist leaders celebrate scoring in their campaign of slander and isolation of Jews from the rest of society.

According to the Gaza GenoLIE website, its purpose is that of an educational initiative relating to the "generated and orchestrated genocide lie promoted by anti-Zionist and antisemitic networks in the United States, Europe and around the world". The campaign argues the most crucial element in claims of genocide is the word "intent"; the 1948 Genocide Convention drafted following the Holocaust refers to certain acts inclusive of killing, causing serious harm, inflicting destructive conditions of life, committed "with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such."

The convention, they contend, asks whether the perpetrator acted for the specific goal of destroying a protected group. Israel, they argue, waged war to dismantle Hamas and bring the release of the Israeli hostages; the civilian death toll a consequence of urban combat against an enemy that "purposely and cynically embed(ed) itself among its own population."

The war Israel fought was to target Hamas, not the Palestinians. When, on October 8, Israel declared war, four aims were made clear: recover the hostages; dismantle Hamas's military capacity; remove Hamas as Gaza's governing authority; ensure Gaza could never again carry out such a horrendous attack.

Israel, moreover, issued evacuation warnings in advance of military operations, dropped millions of Arabic-language leaflets and placed tens of millions of phone calls, texts, and recorded messages in Arabic to urge civilians to leave identified combat zones. "None of the aims reference Palestinians. They refer to an armed terror organization -- its fighters, weapons, and rule."

Pope Leo's Two-State Solution

"Türkiye has a number of, if you will, qualities about it; it is a country with the vast majority being Muslims, and yet the presence of numerous Christian communities there, although a very small minority, and yet people of different religions are able to live in peace. And that is one example, I would say, of what I think we all would be looking for throughout the world."
"To say that in spite of religious differences, in spite of ethnic differences, in spite of many other differences, people can indeed live in peace. Türkiye itself has had, of course, in its history various moments when it was not always the case, and yet to have experienced that and to have been able to speak also with President Erdogan about peace, I think, was an important element, a worthwhile element of my visit."
Pope Leo XIV

"Christians in Türkiye face everyday discrimination for their faith. Foreign Christians with Turkish spouses and children have been banned from entering or re-entering the country. Religion is recorded on the Turkish ID card, making it easy to discriminate against Christian job applicants. Even Greek and Armenian Christians who attend traditional churches aren't considered full members of Turkish society. Their churches struggle with legal obstacles and red tape intended to obstruct the practice of their faith."
"Historical Christian groups, such as the Armenian and Assyrian (Syriac) churches, face high pressure and hostility in the southeastern region of Türkiye. For decades, they have been caught between the rivalries of the Turkish army and Kurdish resistance groups. Most Christians from those churches no longer live in their ancestral regions but have moved to western areas of Türkiye."

"Ramazan Arkan, the pastor of the Antalya Evangelical Churches in Turkey, spoke during the meeting.
“Turkish churches face many difficulties and much discrimination, and unfortunately, when we have tried to address those issues with the Turkish authorities, we have most often been ignored because Christians are the religious minority in Turkey,” he said."
"Missionaries are also being deported. Their residence permits are not being renewed, and they are labeled as possible security threats. Fearing they could be deported at any time, many foreign missionaries in Turkey avoid participating in church meetings or activities to go undetected."
"Members of the Christian community are not free from hate crimes, either. Many of them face threats and social isolation online."
"We encounter speech filled with insults and profanity directed at official church social media accounts, church leaders, Christianity, Christian values, and Christians in general,” the Turkish Association of Protestant Churches stated in its latest Human Rights Report."

Pope Leo  travelled to Turkey to attend the historic Nicaea gathering dating from the Christian gathering at the Turkish city of Nicaea in A.D.325 of bishops from the Eastern and Western churches in unity with one another; Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant; where the Nicaean Creed originated. While he was in Turkey he met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, where discussions took place related to the conflict in Gaza. Pope Leo asked Mr. Erdogan to work toward bringing peace to Gaza.

Just as Pope Leo has exonerated Turkey from persecution of Christians in Turkey -- where significantly, ancient Constantinople was the eastern seat of Christianity under Emperor Constantine whose mother Helena, an early convert to Christianity, persuaded her son to support Christianity. Constantinople's  transition to Istanbul, Turkey's largest city and its cultural capital took place in 1080 when Seljuk Turks invaded, installing Islam and wrenching the country from Christianity -- so too does he overlook the very fact that it is Erdogan himself that supports Gaza's terror against Israel.

He cannot be unaware that President Erdogan's Sunni Islamist ideology is one of conquest achieved by violent force. Nor can he be ignorant of the fact that Erdogan has given haven to Hamas leaders, and along with Qatar, arms and supports Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups on a cohort with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Yet this pope has chosen to foster amicable relations with a dictator who persecutes his own country's Christians and actively engages in the jihadist Islamofascist plot to destroy Israel.

Catholics, in their faith creed universally recite "I believe in one God, the Father almighty...", yet give no mind to the fact that their monotheistic religion owes its existence to Judaism. In humble deference to the source of their one-God creed it might behoove the Catholic Church to recognize its indebtedness to the Judaic YHWH, the source of all they hold dear in their faith. That it was a Jewish man whose Judaic prescriptions they revere, and that the welfare of that crux of civilization would be of concern to Catholics and to the Pope.

Instead, Israel, the home of the Jewish world, is held by this Pope, as it has been by his predecessors as a condemned entity, itself persecuted throughout the ages by the Catholic Church itself, a tradition that continues, now honouring a narrative of victimhood of those calling themselves Palestinians, oppressed by an 'occupying force' engaged in the commission of genocide. Pope Francis's honouring of a 'Palestinian' Jesus before his death spoke volumes of a willing abandonment of the source of Christianity, preferring to honour an Arab pretender to a Jewish originator of the religion 1.4 billion people worship globally.

Insisting that a two-state solution is an absolute necessity to see an end to the 80-year old conflict between the Jewish world and that of Islam that focuses on a 'Palestinian State' when since 1947 onward that Palestinian State has been rebuffed time and again in favour of castigating and casting out a Jewish presence on land 'consecrated to Islam', yet representing Judaic ancestral land, only a small portion of which is occupied by the State of Israel, a mere sliver in the total geography of the Middle East, as an intolerable affront which must be destroyed.

A two-state solution, a concept originally accepted by Israel, and offered time and again in negotiations which Palestinian leadership turned away time and again, is a purely Western-supported ideal, one which Palestinians have no interest in whatever, holding out for Israel's destruction, and a one-state Palestinian solution. Israel has surrendered its support of that elusive two-state 'solution' to achieve a longed-for peace, when its people will no longer be targets for murder by its neighbours, solidified into a stone etching reflective of the  tablets of the Ten Commandments' 'thou shalt not kill', when to protect its own it must do just that.

Victimized Palestinian Refugees

"[The spike in terrorism  happens] in part because of, over $6 billion in U.S., Canada, and European Union aid given to the Palestinian Authority [PA] and the United Nations Relief Works Agency [UNRWA] since 2008."
"The PA invests a substantial share of its budget, and hence of this foreign aid, on inciting terrorism, on glorifying terrorism and on financially rewarding terrorism."
Henry Kopel, (retired) U.S. Federal Prosecutor

"[We believe that] the unfortunate but glaring reality here is this: Decades of negotiations, agreements, promises, warnings, moral appeals, and temporary aid suspensions all have done nothing to reduce or prevent the Palestinian Authority's relentless commitment to inciting, glorifying, and financially rewarding acts of terrorism committed against innocent Israelis."

Spontaneous, erratic, random terrorist attacks can take place anywhere, at any time in Israel, incited by a Palesltinian leadership commitment to convincing Palestinians that they are victims of Israeli aggression. It is a message that has a much wider audience as well, through a clever institutionalized program of 'public relations' propaganda painting Israel and Jews who support Israel, as illegal 'occupiers' of their own Biblical-era ancestral geography in the Middle East.

The hugely aggressive and highly successful strategy used by the Palestinian Authority in what is called the West Bank (of the Jordan River) and their sectarian counterparts, Hamas in Gaza, a Western-acknowledged terrorist group has had little difficulty initiating a Western-popularized sanctions regimen popularly called the BDS Movement, Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions isolationist move against Israel.

Unions and Academic institutions in particular have taken to the BDS program with great enthusiasm, all too willing to endorse the slander that Israel is actively engaged in blocking a peace agreement that would lead the way to a formally internationally recognized Palestinian state. The PA and its cohorts smear Israel with refusing to negotiate in good faith for a peace agreement, while in reality at the negotiating table Israel has time and again offered all the conditions demanded by the PA only to have them back away.

Israel has been forced by Palestinian Authority intransigence over negotiations and the PA's institutionalized teaching of young Palestinians from grade school forward through school curricula, social media, television and news networks that Jews are their enemies and there is no finer future for an aspiring Palestinian hero than to conspire to murder Jews. Through such achievements as delivering death to Jews, the perpetrators receive celebrity status, their families are given generous financial pensions..

These acts of terrorism are excused by Western allies of both the PA and Israel as inevitable, a people victimized and frustrated, fighting for their human rights. The murder of Jewish Israelis, from young children to adults to elders to soldiers and police fail to impact the conscience of the world community which has grown comfortable viewing Jews and Israelis as having the upper hand, convincing them that their sympathy is rightfully placed with the Palestinian 'victims' of Israeli 'apartheid'.

Should Jews venture by misadventure into a West Bank village or city (cities called 'refugee camps'), their lives are immediately endangered. No Jews may live among Arabs in the West Bank, whereas several million Arabs live in Israel as citizens with equal rights to Jews. Palestinian Arabs sit in the Israeli Knesset (parliament), are appointed judges, their youth attend Israeli universities, medical practitioners practise out of Israeli hospitals.

In the Jewish apartheid state, Druze, Bedouin, Arabs, Christian, Baha'i and a host of other non-Jews have citizenship with all the rights associated with that status. Most non-Jewish Israeli citizens, including Palestinians have no wish to live under PA rule, preferring to remain in Israel which speaks volumes about the assurances of justice and security guaranteed to all. Still, among those living in the West Bank, in Gaza and in Israel itself, Palestinians are readily convinced by their leaders that their finest calling is as a martyr in the 'struggle' against the 'oppressor'.

While the Palestinian Authority continues to reward terrorism; Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has said outright that nothing could induce him or the PA to stop what is called 'pay-for-slay', which says all that is needed to fully understand how much of a 'partner-for-peace' Israel has in the current Palestinian administration -- and it has never been any different under any previous leader. In effect, every Western power that sanctimoniously helps fund the PA in the assumption they are helping the Palestinians is complicit in their terrorist actions and the death of Jews.

This is no secret. The evidence is blatantly available, even boasted of. Media in the West play deliberately into the hands of the PA media machine. Headlines never fail to emphasize the latest news from the canted perspective of the 'Palestinian cause'. When Israel Defence Forces defensively cause the death of an armed terrorist who has just killed Israelis, news headlines blare: the IDF kills a Palestinian overlooking the cause and effect.

The world -- certainly not the United Nations, and much less so, the UNRWA arm of the UN specific to the Palestinian 'situation' has no interest in removing the identification of 'refugees' from a people who left the territory in favour of returning once assembled Arab armies destroyed the nascent Israeli state after refusing the UN Partition plan for side-by-side states, Israeli and Palestinian. Remaining refugees consolidates their victimhood status.

There is no expectation that the Palestinians will be civilized, will develop the core infrastructure of a responsible state, will be capable and amenable of administering itself in a manner expected of a sovereign state with full employment for its population and a standard of living that would not include international handouts in pity of a marginalized population.

The time has long passed for Palestinians to be proud of themselves as responsible, independent people. It's never too late but that time won't come as long as they're being coddled with no expectations of civilized behaviour, encouraging their victimhood.

Palace Intrigues and Royal Vengeance

"[Saad Aljabri masterminded an] international scheme [involving 21 conspirators across 13 countries to defraud the plaintiff companies of billions of dollars, fled to Canada, and] launched a public relations campaign, including litigation against his former government, to deflect attention from his theft."
"While [Aljabri's]  hands were hidden, his fingerprints are everywhere."
Ontario Lawsuit: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia state companies

"The [Aljabri] family welcomes the opportunity to face off against [Mohammed bin Salman] in neutral judicial forums in Canada and the United States."
"[The lawsuits brought against the family represents a] campaign of harassment and misinformation."
"The family will fight the recycled corruption allegations vigorously and are confident they will succeed in dismissing them as they did in 2018 with the Interpol."
Aljabri family statement

"Having failed to finish the job in Canada, [bin Salman] continues in his attempted extrajudicial killing to this day. "
"In recent months, Defendant bin Salman obtained a fatwa directed at Dr. Saad — in this case, a ruling by religious authorities endorsing the killing of Dr. Saad."
"Accordingly, to Defendant bin Salman, the threat posed by Dr. Saad to Defendant bin Salman’s standing in the United States is an urgent and ongoing one."
"While the U.S. government has thus far aided in the efforts to protect Dr. Saad’s life, it has been unable to prevent a credible attempt on Dr. Saad’s life by Defendant bin Salman’s agents, an attempt which remains ongoing to this day."
"[The attempts on his life have caused Aljabri] indescribable pain."
"He lives in a state of extreme fear and anxiety, with insomnia and other physical effects, all because of the past credible attempts on his life and the knowledge that Defendant bin Salman wants him dead and is continuing to work, with seeming impunity, toward that ultimate objective."
Court documents, U.S. lawsuit filed by Aljabri family against Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

Up to 2015 Saad Aljabri was a well-known and collaborative intelligence figure in the West, representing Saudi Arabia as its ranking intelligence official under Mohammed bin Nayef, the nephew and presumptive heir to the throne of the Kingdom of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. And then his world turned upside down, when King Salman's youngest son persuaded his father to appoint him instead as heir to the Saudi throne. It took little time before Crown Prince bin Salman placed family members, advisers and others he considered disloyal under arrest, confining them to their homes.

Some high-ranking members of the Kingdom's inner circle chose to flee the long arm of MbS, among whom was journalist Jamal Khashoggi who domiciled himself in exile in Turkey, refusing blandishments by MbS to return to Saudi Arabia. His incendiary criticism of his country and its ruling royalty signed his death warrant, executed by a death squad clumsily and with blatant disregard for consequences which diminished the Crown Prince's stature and reputation in the west.

After Saad Aljabri left Saudi Arabia accurately reading the clear and concise writing on the wall, he was petitioned time and again to return, becoming in the process an irritating critic of the Saud family. As the right-hand deputy of MbS's predecessor he was destined to be disappeared or 'neutralized' and preferred to remain free and at large as far as possible from Saudi Arabia, with his family. Two of his adult children, however, had remained behind in their native country. They were 'disappeared' a year ago and no one has any idea where they are now. The strategy being to apply hostage pressure on Aljabri.

Jamal Khashoggi  Photo by YASIN AKGUL/AFP
A team of mercenaries identified as the "Tiger Squad" assumed to be the same crew that murdered Khashoggi at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul, Turkey had tried to enter Canada, ostensibly to carry out orders by Mohammed bin Salman. They failed to impress the Canadian Border Services Agency officers who uncovered false statements revealing a questionable mission and they were turned away, rendered incapable of fulfilling their assignment, but reminding Mr. Aljabri of the danger he faced.

He had launched his lawsuit against Crown Prince Salman in the United States. Lawyers for ostensibly defrauded state companies in Saudi Arabia launched their lawsuit against Mr. Aljabri in Ontario, where he has lived since 2017 in exile. Mr. Aljabri is accused of having embezzled close to $4.5 billion from the treasury of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the new lawsuit filed in the Ontario Superior Court contends.

The lawsuit, filed by Tahakom Investment Company owned by the sovereign wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia chaired by Mohammed bin Salmon, claims that between 2008 and 2017, Saad Aljabri cooked up an "international scheme" with 21 conspirators, that when companies Aljabri established into the Tahakom Investment Company, there were irregularities earmarked through an audit by Ernst & Young and Deloitte International.

According to the lawsuit, Aljabri is charged with setting up companies meant to focus on anti-terrorism platforms; his high-ranking position within the Saudi government lending him the authority to do so. He was said to have appropriated funds allocated by the Saudi government, placing them in a variety of exterior jurisdictions like the British Virgin Islands and Turkey. He is charged also with buying up luxury homes in a number of countries and disbursing funds to friends and family.

The lawsuit identifies properties in Toronto and Montreal, luxury condominiums in Boston, a penthouse in Washington, D.C., and numerous properties in Saudi Arabia owned by Aljabri or his family or purchased through corporate entities loyal to him. In 2017, Saudi Arabia alerted INTERPOL, requesting they have Aljabri arrested for return to the Kingdom on charges of corruption. INTERPOL however, made their own determination that the request was politically motivated.

Canada's Islamist Despicables

"I, Charles Adler, would not apologize to Omar Khadr, even if you offered me $10.5-million. It would be a betrayal."
"Sure, he checks off all the boxes. He was technically a Canadian. But who believes his family were ever Canadians in spirit? He was technically a child soldier. But he wasn't some kid who'd been kidnapped and turned into a robot and forced to kill people at gunpoint."
"It's not that people on the street don't understand the Charter. They do. But almost every time they hear about the Charter, it's about a bad guy – a drug dealer or a pedophile. And the lawyers tell them it was such a good thing that the Charter was upheld, because that means all our rights are upheld. But most of them aren't contemplating being pedophiles or drug dealers. Most of them think that when you turn your guns on your own country, you stop being a Canadian. And they feel locked out."
"The elites think these folks don't understand the rule of law. Well, they do understand the law. They just don't like what the law tells them to do."
"People feel they've been had. And they don't like it."

"I’m not excusing what they [his mother and sister, though he excuses what he did] said. I’m not justifying what they said. They were going through a hard time. They said things out of anger or frustration."

Now that the government of Canada in the person of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has formally apologized to former youth jihadi Omar Khadr and settled the lawsuit that he brought against the very same government for $20-million to compensate him for pain and suffering he underwent as an innocent child in Afghanistan and then Guantanamo Bay when U.S. medics saved his life from the serious injuries he sustained when he killed an American military medic, Justin Trudeau has surprised Canadians rather unpleasantly by bestowing $10-million of Canadian taxpayer money on the man.

Government apologists have gone out of their way to supinely explain to stupid Canadians that there was no other option but to give this munificent sum to a terrorist whose father, an Egyptian and mother, a Palestinian raised their children in jihad and ordered their sons to attend jihadi combat training schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Their daughter, Zaynab, an avowedly passionate defender of Osama bin Laden, was able to personally thank bin Laden for attending her second marriage ceremony.

Now that Omar Khadr has his reward for patiently waiting for the government of Canada to reach its right senses in acknowledging him to be a pitiable victim of harsh American penalties for lobbing grenades at its fighting men, he has gone to court to have restrictions in his bail conditions lifted, which assert that he can only have contact with his al-Qaeda-supporting, Western-loathing mother and sister in the presence of intermediaries. To that end he has petitioned the Court of Queen's Bench to relax his bail to enable unencumbered visits with  his sister and mother.

He has filed an affidavit with the court claiming that if family members did make an effort to unduly influence him, they would fail since, at age 30, he is an adult with his own independent thoughts and values. Omar Khadr, certifies his lawyer, is now incontrovertibly a good man, and exposure to his family's contempt for Canadian values while honouring those of al-Qaeda can do nothing to convert him into a 'bad person'.

When a journalist attempted to contact his mother, Maha Elsamnah, at her Toronto home, whoever answered the call asserted: "Every time (Omar) sh--s, you have to write about it? Don't call back and don't bother her [his mother]", he snarled before hanging up. His sister, living with her fourth husband in Sudan, after living in Malaysia and then in Egypt, has plans, after giving birth yet again, to return to Canada for a visit. And her brother Omar doesn't want to miss the opportunity to commune with his sister.

As a Canadian citizen, after all, he has all the constitutional rights to live his life normally and with all protections under equality laws guaranteed to all other Canadians. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms, he argues, protects him and asserts his equal rights. After all, though the RCMP identified the family as supporters of al-Qaeda who saw nothing whatever wrong with Taliban rule in Afghanistan, his sister insists her family had only the best interests of Afghans uppermost in mind.

The Infectious Quality of Unfathomable Stupidity

"As soon as it hit the floor, there was a realization by me as president that it was an emotional issue. We're talking about the first prime minister of Canada and how he is held in esteem by many people. It's an emotional issue."
"But what's important is that we're having an open and frank discussion about pieces of our history that we've talked about, as we have with residential schools, as an example."
Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario president Sam Hammond

"When you see Macdonald's name, he's the author of the residential schools. At least in my mind. They (in 1867) did this to us, and people are still suffering the effects, and they will be for more generations."
"Why would you name something, especially a place of education, that is so offensive and was so harmful to all of us First Nations people?"
"There are no First Nations people who are not affected. Not today, not yesterday and they'll still be affected tomorrow."
"I just find it a slap in the face. Five years ago, they renamed the Western Parkway. Why? Why would you pick the author of the residential schools, the person who harmed us to a point where we can barely recover? They finally apologized, so now let's get rid of the memorabilia that makes this person heroic. He was not a hero to us."

"Where will it stop? If we start to do that, where will it stop? And this is a good example."
"Will we change all these names [an airport, bridge, highway, street, parkway and federal buildings]? John A. Macdonald, like all politicians did good and wrong things, but he is the first prime minister of Canada and is really related to the history of Canada. I don't think we have to throw out his name everywhere."
"[If we throw out his name whose will follow]? We'll only be left with [former Prime Minister and Nobel Laureate, Lester B.] Pearson."
"Right now, we're trying to rewrite history with our eyes, from today. But when we look 100 years ago, society has changed so much. Generally I feel we should keep those names; it's an opportunity to speak about what they did -- something good, something wrong. But if you throw away these names, we will forget them and never speak about them."

We are separate nations, with a different social culture and certainly different political system, but when any social craze strikes the United States like a persistent cold-and-fever, Canada sneezes. What becomes au cuurant in the United States, from popular culture to political responses to world affairs, becomes an echo in Canada, albeit in watered-down form, reflecting Canadian values to colour Canadian response. Sometimes the echo comes too close in content and reaction for comfort.

And it certainly has done so with this latest media-emphasized and left-versus-right bout of social-driven righteousness in attempting to re-write history bringing out the crazies on both the left and the right to impact public consciousness on the sanctimony inherent in victims' rights and entitlements.
Mr. Prevost, an esteemed historian got his facts wrong on Lester B. Pearson, held in such high esteem as embodying the best and the brightest to come out of Canada's old Department of External Affairs. He too would now be looked upon as a racist; he evinced a deep dislike of Blacks.

As for Canada's first Prime Minister and one of the architects of Canadian Confederation, he was a creature of his times, and  his time in governance was a century and a half ago. First Nations now are aggrieved over the residential school system that the government of the day in agreement with religious orders established to expose Indigenous children to European-based methods of education and social studies, as well as socializing them in the reflection of European values.

Most of the children who underwent that process of education learned to look after themselves, received an education comparable to those that other children in mainstream society were exposed to, and went on to further their own aspirations. Many other children made claims to physical and mental abuse, and harm done them. Children died in those residential schools from episodes of disease that swept through society at the time, but in no greater numbers than other children in society.

Today's First Nations are encouraged by their leadership to live in traditional ways on traditional lands on reserves operated by tribal leaders many of whom take advantage of their position to betray their responsibility to the larger reserve population, all paid for by financial allocations taken out of tax funds. There has been little accountability, and while some reserves are operated to the credit of their elected officials, all too many others are rife with corruption.

On reserves, living the 'traditional' way, in remote communities, housing is supplied by the government and funding for education, health, and all other living expenses is provided through general taxes, exempt for First Nations people living on reserves. There is scant employment, education and medical care can be sub-par, and poverty is rife, but not for the band councils which compensate themselves generously through government handouts.

Family dysfunction is rife, sexual predation is high and violence is common, while drug and alcohol dependency rules the day so that children's needs are neglected and the suicide rate among aboriginal children is high, as is the number of children taken into care in recognition of their parents' incapacity to meet their emotional and nurturance requirements. All these failures are attributed by the aggrieved state of victimhood embraced by First Nations, to the advent of the residential schools.

In the United States, complete reconciliation between the two competing political/ideological/social forces that led to the American Civil War remains elusive and simmers under the surface. It has now culminated with the push by 'progressive' leftists to remove all vestiges of that historical time; the memorials and statues erected to commemorate the Confederate side of the Civil War. In response, that segment of society that values those historical remnants of a time gone by, have resisted. And into their orbit has come white supremacists, fascists, neo-Nazis and other racists, as is their wont.

Now we have the echo resonating in Canada, with calls by leftists, by unions, and by First Nations activists to emulate demands in the United States to expunge from public view all commemorations that give offense to the delicate-minded who fail to appreciate that history is real, it happened, and not always to everyone's liking, and that toppling a statue will change nothing. It is wince-worthy but not entirely surprising that a teachers' union would propose the elimination of memorials to Canada's political worthies. Not surprising since their chief enabler is the current government itself.

These are the teachers who appear in classrooms to expose Canadian children to their preferred versions of history. And the appeasing hordes of leftist sycophants who slaver at the bit to reassure the original victims of European invasion into Canada triumphantly bleat their accord with demands to rearrange Canadian history to make it less offensive to Canada's indigenous populations. Who never went to war among one another, nor took one another as slaves, nor tortured nor killed other tribes' populations.

“You’re sick of being here stuck in traffic. Imagine what it’s like to be stuck in a First Nations community where there’s no hope, no resources for you, and you don’t have anywhere to reach out to. We’re stuck,” Jennifer Spence-Clarke with Urban Warrior Alliance said.

There Is Method To Their Madness

"The [PA] president in a meeting of the [PA] leadership: As long as the situation in Jerusalem does not return to being as it was before July 14, [2017], there will be no changes whatsoever; to the residents of Jerusalem: We are with you in all that you have done and are still doing, as you are causing us pride and you are taking care of your Al-Aqsa Mosque, your land, your dignity, your people, your religion, and your holy sites"
"At the beginning of a meeting of the [PA] leadership yesterday evening [July 25, 2017], [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas said that as long as the situation in Jerusalem does not return to being as it was before July 14, [2017], there will be no changes whatsoever (refers to Israeli security measures at the Temple Mount following a terror attack there that were later removed; see note below -Ed.).
The president added: 'All of the new Israeli steps on the ground from that date until today need to stop, and then the situation in Jerusalem will return to normal. Afterwards we will continue our work on everything regarding the relations between us and them.'
The president said: 'Since Israel tried to change the situation, the [Palestinian] residents of Jerusalem have risen as one (they launched violent riots -Ed.) You have objected to all of the [Israeli] steps, and we have supported you in what you have done and what you are doing. We are with you in everything that you have done and are still doing, as you are causing us pride, and you are taking care of your Al-Aqsa Mosque, your land, your dignity, your people, your religion, and your holy sites. This is the response to everyone who wants to harm our holy sites. Jerusalem is ours. It is our capital and it is [under] our sovereignty, and therefore what you [Palestinians] are doing is right.'
President Abbas noted that the meeting was supposed to take place today (Wednesday) [July 26, 2017], and said: 'We made it earlier because there were developments (refers to Israel deciding to remove security measures from the Temple Mount on July 24, 2017 -Ed.). We must examine them in order to say our piece and say where we are headed.'
He added: 'What we have decided is to freeze the security coordination [with Israel] - and this is happening, and to defend the holy sites - and this is happening [too]. We want to examine what has happened from that day until today in order to see what we will do.'"

First the provocation, then the accusations, followed up by the threats, and then comes the violence.
It is a tried-and-true methodology perfected by Fatah's Palestinian Authority, never to be divulged to the world-at-large which prefers the impression promoted by the everlastingly victimized Palestinians that Israel is involved in 'genocide', manipulating events to discredit Palestinian claims  to the territory they covet and unequivocally announce is theirs.

It is as though the international community simply prefers to assess and cling to the charade used by the Palestinian Authority to shield its agenda of turning world opinion to its support as the oppressed people living in an agony of intimidation and impecuniousity forced upon it by the brutal military action of an occupying power whose purpose is to deny Palestinian their basic human rights.

There is no wish to acknowledge let alone recognize that the issue has been turned inside out; the PA's published map of its 'territory' is absent Israel, their school curricula teaches each generation that Israel's presence is illegal and it is the duty of every Palestinian to 'resist', to aspire to martyrdom, to return all the land on which Israel sits to Palestinian rule and domination.

Which is why the father of the Palestinian man who murdered three Israeli Jews in their home contends that his son is blameless; he was simply reacting to the unimaginable atrocities committed by Israel against Palestinians. In this particular case it was the reaction of Israeli security authorities in closing down access temporarily to the al-Aqsa mosque complex to search for more weapons being cached there, like the ones that enabled three Israeli Palestinians to shoot to death two Israeli police maintaining security on the complex.

Father of terrorist murderer Omar Al-Abd: "The occupation is the reason for this operation (i.e., terror attack, 3 murdered), because my son is an honorable and educated man, not a man who carries out operations. He is a very calm man, and the members of the village testify to his personality. He is a very moderate man and does not talk about things like this. Rather this happened because of the occupation and what it has inflicted on the Al-Aqsa Mosque."
[Official PA TV News, July 22, 2017] -- Palestinian Media Watch

The head Jerusalem Mufti and the President of the PA, Mahmoud Abbas, were outraged that the murder of the two policemen resulted in a temporary closing of the plaza holding the Dome of the Rock and al-Aqsa mosque while security personnel searched for evidence and other weapons. Or they said they were outraged with this purported overreach of Israeli authority at the sacred precincts of Islam's third holiest site.

The weapons used by the three assassins had been cached within the mosque; sacred to what? The outstanding precept of Islam: violent jihad.

When Israeli authorities did no more than what would follow anywhere else in the world after such terrorism by installing metal detectors for the protection of all, it presented Palestinian authority figures with the ideal opportunity to incite Palestinians to riot, and riot they did. First, praying on Jerusalem streets outside the gates leading to the mosque, refusing to enter through the metal detectors.

When Saudi Arabia, Jordan, international leaders, Christian organizations and the news media weighed in to support the removal of the security cameras and metal detectors as demanded by the Palestinians, Israel sighed and removed them.

An euphoric victory for Islam was proclaimed. The Palestinian authorities advised Palestinians they were now permitted to enter the compound in the absence of the cameras and detectors. And the riots that had begun before their removal continued, day and night, with Palestinians throwing rocks and other objects at Israeli police and the police  using tear gas and rubber bullets in an effort to halt the rioting.

All cause for Mahmoud Abbas and Fatah to proclaim both a triumph and the usual slanders and incitements in the claim that Israel was planning to remove custody of the mosque and Noble Sanctuary from Jordan's waqf authority in an agreement that disallows Jewish entry to the Temple Mount to pray at Judaism's most sacred site.
Fatah: "At your service, O Jerusalem
At your service, O Al-Aqsa Mosque"
