Justin Trudeau has  altered Canada beyond recognition. He has, as promised, taken Canada directly toward 'post-nationalism'. And in the course of achieving that status, his open immigration, refugee and migrant intake has been completely transformational. As has been his emphasis on society of new Canadian values; out with the old, in with DEI, Woke, and Critical Race Theory. Unions and Academic institutions have celebrated these changes; the infiltration of liberal-left 'progressives' and Islamist influences have been profound.

From the very beginning of what Trudeau speaks of as 'the conflict', he and his Cabinet cronies have issued statements and charges inimical to Israel's reputation in their contortions of the facts and their propensity to lay blame and responsibility on Israel for what Palestinian terrorism has wrought. This is not what Canada is. Most Canadians have had enough of Mr. Trudeau's wretched direction he has taken Canada into and for a wide variety of reasons. For Canadian Jews and their supporters the reasons are more personal; they abhor his sanctimonious antisemitism.

Amply displayed in his tolerance for mobs of Muslim and Palestinian haters and malcontents swarming the streets of Canadian cities with their criminal cries of 'Final Solution', 'Globalize the Intifada', and 'Palestine will be free from the river to the sea', every declaration of this nature a clear call for the destruction of the State of Israel. The blockades and harassment of Jewish neighbourhoods, the attacks on synagogues and community centers, the shooting up of Jewish parochial schools and vandalization of Jewish businesses see no government action at any level, led by the federal government to bring order and security back to the streets of Canada.

So it is hardly surprising that Canada's utter failure of a prime minister hails the finding of the International Criminal Court that Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and its-then Minister of Defence Yoav Gallant are found guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity in their combined goal of punishing and destroying the intention of Palestinian terrorist group Hamas and others of their ilk to continue mounting deadly attacks on Israel and its citizens after the horrors of October 7, 2023. 

 

Canada's Prime Minister-in-waiting, opposition Conservatives, will reverse all the destructive moves made by the Trudeau government to return pride to Canada.

 

In Montreal on Friday, tens of thousands of pro-Hamas supporters and university students created mayhem and havoc by rioting, attacking police attempting to restore order, with the mob chanting anti-Israel and anti NATO slogans. Violence was rife, with masked and kaffiya-clad men and women making Nazi salutes and shouting invectives, smashing windows of businesses and at the conference centre where a NATO meeting was being held. And where was Justin Trudeau while this was going on? In Toronto attending a Taylor Swift extravaganza, dancing to the songs of the popular entertainer.

Under its current government, headed by Justin Trudeau, Canada has undergone a multitude of changes, none of which has resulted in better government, or given Canadians a reason to be proud of their country. It is a nation undone as a nation, and deliberately so by a prime minister whose agenda runs counter to reason, justice and morality. In this particular instance, a country whose government has chosen to turn its back on a member-democracy that the government before this one supported wholeheartedly. When Justin Trudeau came into the position of control of the nation he described as 'post-national' he instantly turned around the preceding government's ethical, moral, political, diplomatic sureties.

 

We have become a nation divided on many issues, moving offside social mores, to natural resource extraction friction, from alienating West from East and North from South, and issues of social and criminal justice, of serving peoples' needs completely in collapse. Above all, a significant portion of Canadian ethnic identity has been fractionalized, endangered and isolated by actions taken by hostile factions within the population campaigning against Israel and by extension Jews, through loud, vulgar and slanderous antisemitism accompanied by violent criminal acts, with no remedial action by the Trudeau government in upholding the human rights of Canada's Jewish population.

Israel's pain and grief in the aftermath of the horrors of the terrorist attacks of October 7 in southern Israel have been set aside once the initial shock settled, as irrelevant to empathetic recognition in an atmosphere of volatile, threatening and violent verbal attacks against the existence of the State of Israel, alongside physical criminal acts of sabotage targeting Jewish-owned businesses, community centres, parochial schools, synagogues and Jewish-majority neighbourhoods, with scarcely a counteractive move by government.

 

The disruptive marches organized by Palestinians and their supporters echoing the situation of antisemitic activism taking place throughout Europe and the United States, supported by left-wing 'progressives', unions, environmental and LGBTQ-2 groups has been unprecedented and demeaning of the social values of the West. Knesset member Sharren Haskel, born in Canada, now a member of the Israeli parliament, decries what she has observed of the direction that Canada has taken at the United Nations, at Canadian universities whose campuses have been allowed to fall to the Hamas-supporting factions of Jew-haters without recourse to the law to uproot their divisive, destructive tactics.

Skyrocketing antisemitism has shocked and threatened the well-being of diaspora Jews everywhere in this unexpected tsunami of Jew-hate orchestrated by Islamist thugs who feed off slumbering antisemitism in society, bringing it to a crescendo of full-blown antipathy destabilizing law and order while nothing is done to ensure the security of Jews and their social and religious institutions from attack and demonization. In Canada, that blase obliviousness of the government's obligation of duty to all its citizens reflects pervasive antisemitism at the core of society.

 

The sadistic sexual depravity of Palestinian terrorists against Israeli children, girls and women, the wholesale slaughter of Israeli families, the terror inflicted upon infants and teens, women and the elderly, the murder of entire families burned beyond identification in their vehicles, in their homes, on the streets of the kibbutzim, the hundreds of young men and women killed at a music festival, the hostage-taking of girls and women, the elderly and infirm, of infants and children, fails to move the empathetic dismay and outrage of civilized countries beyond the initial acknowledgement of the atrocities.

 

They are now persuaded instead that Israel, in its internationally-recognized right of response to such malignancy, determined to destroy the terrorist ghouls who repeat at every opportunity their intention to repeat October 7 endlessly until Israel is destroyed and Jews are obliterated, is being bullied and threatened by its 'allies' in democracy, by the UN General Assembly, by the International Criminal Court, to cease and desist in its mission to protect itself and its people from another genocide.

Former Prime Minister Stephen Harper's government ceased its financial support of UNRWA in the knowledge that its functionality as a UN operation dedicated to the 'victimized' Palestinians' welfare in pursuit of 'right of return' to overwhelm and destroy Israel as a Jewish state and capture its ancestral territory for a state dedicated entirely to Palestinian nationhood; a decision overturned by Justin Trudeau. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency is a major employer of Palestinians in Gaza, many of whom are members of Hamas.

Proof was given to the world at large of UN schools built over underground Hamas bunkers with rocket launchers metres from UN refugee camps. The UNRWA Gaza headquarters hosted a Hamas data centre. UNRWA employees took part in the savagery meted out to Israelis on October 7. The tent fire that took place in Rafah following an Israeli airstrike meant to target two Hamas officials did not occur as a result of the precision small-impact bombs, but rather the ammunition depot installed close to the camp exploded, lit by the bombs that hit their targets, resulting in the deaths of dozens in the camp.

And in Canada, pro-Palestinian, pro-Hamas protests organized by Palestinian student groups from the days following directly on the October 7 atrocities, have roiled the public square, shutting highways, closing access to public facilities, raiding shopping centres, blocking hospital entrances, setting up blockages at bridges leading to majority Jewish neighbourhoods, carrying posters reading "From the river to the sea Palestine will be free!", in the absence of Israel. Signs congratulating Hamas, flaunting the 'intefada', promising a 'final solution'. Jewish  university students and faculty are blocked entry to universities whose campuses have become tent camps for the proliferation and promulgation of antisemitism.

This is a government for which no action is deemed required to put an end to masked provocateurs fulminating and threatening and accusing Jews of genocide against Palestinians. This is a shameful period in Canadian history, but worse, much worse, a fearful time of living on the edge of a threatening volcano being experienced by the Jewish community worldwide.

Canadians in general have seen their society upended in disagreements and they have witnessed the strange phenomenon of their government hesitating in its support for a Democratic state that has always had the support of democracies throughout the world, including Canada, in recognition of the legitimacy and the need for the existence of a Jewish State, to preserve and protect embattled Jews from the Middle East to North Africa, after the near-destruction of the world's Jewish population in Europe.

Worse, a government that no longer appears to feel there is any need to support its own Criminal Code laws against promoting hate and violence against an identifiable group, as week after week Muslim-Canadians who have immigrated to Canada, along with refugees and migrants fleeing Sectarian and tribal violence in their countries of origin march through the streets of Canadian cities celebrating the Palestinian Hamas terrorist group's incursion from Gaza into Israel to commit horrendous acts of savagery on Jews.

The explosion of antisemitism and the growing violence against Canada's Jewish community inexplicably has drawn no level of government to declare the hate-filled marches advocating for the destruction of Israel and a 'final solution' for Jews intolerable, prepared to instruct police to apprehend those involved and outlaw such displays of sheer, unadulterated celebration of vicious atrocities committed against southern Israel's farming communities where 1,200 Israeli civilians were slaughtered.

When Jewish lives were in peril during the Second World War, the Catholic Church among others did nothing to admonish the leaders of the Third Reich that their increasing acrimony, threats and final solution to rid the continent of the presence of Jews represented a wholesale atrocity of genocidal proportions. The Protestant Branch of the Church did no better. Now, it is the evangelical Christians that have committed to supporting the Jewish State, at a time once again when Jews are threatened.

If it is true as many would like to believe that not all Muslims subscribe to the hate manifested by those who mask themselves with keffiyehs, claiming Israel to be committing genocide against Palestinians by responding to the mass rapes, murders, mutilations and hostage taking by Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Palestine Liberation Organization and ordinary civilian Palestinians on October 7, and that the majority are peace-supporting and hate no one, there is no evidence of it. That there is an absence of Muslim-Canadian voices protesting the violence on the streets, the criminal acts perpetrated against Jewish parochial schools, synagogues, social centres, and businesses is the reality.

We see and hear only those Muslim-Canadians who bear signage accusing Israel and Jews of genocide for fighting back against terrorism, advocating for the destruction of the Jewish homeland, persecuting Jews on the street, at universities and blocking access to areas where Jews tend to live in groups. Nowhere do we see protesting Muslim-Canadians who accept Jewish-Canadians as equals, entitled to live in peace and security among the steadily growing demographic of Muslims in Canada. Why is that?

Member of Provincial Parliament in Ontario Goldie Ghamari and other expatriate Iranians who fled the Republic for a life of freedom, finding it in Canada, openly support their Jewish counterparts. Theirs is a rare commitment among the Muslims who have settled in Canada for a better life, yet are adamant in denying that life of security, social comfort and prosperity to their Jewish neighbours. Jews, under duress by fellow Canadians whose antisemitism is audible and terrifying to the Jewish-Canadian population never resort to vilifying Muslims for being Muslims, threaten them, bomb their mosques.

The Liberal government of Justin Trudeau is prepared to invite Palestinian Gazans to find refuge in Canada, adding to the already large contingent of Palestinians living in the country who foment hate and violence against Jews. Justin Trudeau cannot find it in himself to condemn the rampant antisemitism and criminal acts committed against Jewish houses of worship without linking antisemitism as a proscribed and hateful symbol of discord, to 'Islamophobia'. The infinitely larger number of Muslims now living in Canada as opposed to a relatively small Jewish population mitigates against this man of authority's responsibility to protect Jews in the greater need to placate the larger voting bloc.

The Absent Authority of the Prime Minister

The town council of the Montreal suburb of Hampstead has expressed a no confidence position through a unanimous resolution, in the Liberal government of prime minister Justin Trudeau, for  his and its failure to take substantive action upholding Canada's traditional support of Israel in the United Nations, as a collegial Liberal-Democratic state sitting alone in a Middle East sea of Sheikhdoms, Kingdoms and Petroleum Dictators hostile to the Jewish state's existence. That it has also failed spectacularly to offer security and safety to Canada's long-standing Jewish community is beyond comprehension.

For the town council, in a suburb that is comprised of a majority Jewish residency, the opportunity arose for an assemblage of Jews in a political position to assert itself in support of Canadian Jews in the midst of a raging torrent of rising antisemitism in the wake of Israel's military entering Gaza for the express purpose of demolishing the terrorist group Hamas, which governs the Palestinian enclave. A terrorist group, furthermore, that is listed on Canada's own proscribed terrorist list. Despite which pro-Hamas demonstrations led by Palestinian-, Arab- and Muslim-Canadians denigrating Jews and accusing Israel of 'genocide', elicit no meaningful response from Justin Trudeau.

At the town council meeting where the resolution passed unanimously, its mayor addressed those present citing examples of antisemitism, among them a Nazi-era-inspired caricature of Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, portraying him as a vampire. And while Trudeau correctly identified the cartoon as 'antisemitic', as did a number of other Members of Parliament, and the newspaper, La Presse, withdrew the cartoon and apologized, it represents a typical legacy press slander against Israel in the wake of the October 7 desecration of Jewish lives mounted by Hamas in Israel.

Hampstead council also passed a legal initiative in the creation of a new bylaw that prohibits removal of hostage posters, backing the bylaw with a $1,000 fine, pointing the way that such small gestures can be effective and emulated for that purpose by other politicians as incremental measures to combat antisemitism. To above all, send a message that Canadian Jews do not stand alone in the vast country they love where they were born and have every right to the expectation of equal treatment and respect from their countrymen, including recent immigrants from Middle East countries where Muslim-majority populations' cultural traditions victimize Jews.

Located in the near geographic vicinity to Hampstead is the Montreal Holocaust Museum, where pro-Palestinian activists protested in early Mach, a demonstration organized by the Concordia University student chapter of Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights which spoke of the October 7 massacre of Jews in southern Israel as "an unfaltering desire for liberation"; that they "hold the Israeli regime fully responsible for the escalating violence".

At that time, Mayor Levi wrote: "To the Pro-Hamas demonstrators who gathered outside a Montreal Jewish Community building, spreading anti-Israel and anti-Jewish sentiments: your disgrace is inappropriate and misplaced". Mayor Levi spoke once more of his support for Conservative Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre, underscoring his confidence in his and his party's "ability to act decisively" in the best interests of returning Canada to its traditional support of Israel, and full acceptance of its responsibility toward Canada's Jewish population.

Authoritarian Tyrannies: Russia ... Canada?

Well, actually, no, Mr. Putin. Volodymyr Zelenskyy is a Ukrainian by nationality.  He is, by virtue of his ethnic origins, a Jew. For someone who is quite particular about facts and figures to support a thesis of Russian entitlement and ownership to a geography claimed by its national inhabitants as sovereign, your grasp of origins and heritage leaves much to be desired. But then, conflating Nazism and Jewry seems to fit well in your puzzle of a Greater Russia. 

The Stalin who presided firmly over an eastern Europe that was forced to surrender autonomy and sovereignty to the concept 'all for one and one for itself' under the hammer and sickle also thought so highly of Jews many of whom engineered the social and political structure of Communism that he sought to butcher them all. And you yourself in emulation, focus not merely on individuals of a whole, but a whole nation of those individuals, aligning yourself with the vector of that nation's extermination.

From reality, fiction embellishes the truth and you are a past master at embellishing fiction to resemble the reality. Every nation has its diehard fascists, and although it's difficult to discern where socialism leaves off and fascism takes up, they both target Jews through everlasting hatred and contempt. Designing a campaign of occupation under the rubric of 'saving Ukraine from neo-nazism' suited the special military operation' otherwise known as a land-grab.

The man hungering for greater notoriety and admiration as an icon of interviewing prowess catered to your bruised ego most professionally, Mr. Putin, as you silenced  his queries and launched your professorial lesson in aggrieved heritage and history with its outlines of reality enhanced by deceptive claims of authenticity. What more could be asked for than having an American whose reputation also has been bruised to unctuously play to your paranoia?

According to Dmitry Peskov the interview with Carlson was agreed to, since "he has a position which differs" from other Western media. Where, according to Tucker Carlson, the full-scale invasion of Ukraine was a mere "border dispute" the outcome of which fully revealed America's hatred for Russia. The Jewish-Ukrainian Zelenskyy characterized as a "dictator, a dangerous authoritarian". The Russian dangerously authoritarian dictator fully approved.

But then an embarrassing and completely avoidable incident useful as an example of the perfidy of the West and the revelation of Zelenskyy's true political nature was revealed to Mr. Putin's satisfaction in the Ukrainian President's being confronted in the Canadian House of Commons with the presence of a venerable old Ukrainian-Canadian -- in fact a veteran of the SS Galicia Division of the Waffen SS -- as a WWII hero. 

The Parliamentary Speaker of the House resigned in disgrace following the revelation of 98-year-old Yaroslav Hunka's wartime exploits with the 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS, involved in massacres and war crimes, including the deaths of European Jews, Roma and Poles. "This was a mistake that has deeply embarrassed Parliament and Canada. All of us who were in this House ... regret deeply having stood and clapped even though we did so unaware of the context. It was a horrendous violation of the memory of the millions of people who died in the Holocaust", confessed Justin Trudeau.

Who seems fond of speaking of the Holocaust as a world-shaking event exemplifying man's inhumanity to man, decrying the institutionalized, planned and executed murder of millions, yet somehow overlooking that the Holocaust is specific to the Jewish experience. As when Canada finally erected a Holocaust memorial, where the official plaque somehow was etched to read regret over the deaths of millions of children, women and men, yet never did the word 'Jew' appear.

The House speaker resigned in responsible disgrace. "This only confirms our thesis that one of our goals in Ukraine is denazifiction", Putin said. Justin Trudeau apologized, while his government claimed Anthony Rota, the Speaker, was solely to blame. Only much later was it revealed to the public that the same former volunteer for the SS Galicia Division, Mr. Hunka, had been invited by the Office of the Prime Minister to a Toronto reception for Mr. Zelenskyy.

"He [ Putin] will, of course,  use whatever propaganda he can engage in. But I can tell you Canadians will not be fooled. So we will continue to be there with Ukraine for as much as it takes for as long as it takes."

Mr. Trudeau would know all about propaganda and spreading false information. He is himself quite expert at it. And Canadians have been fooled. Much that has been promised to Ukraine has been well publicized, yet never actually delivered. As for propagada and influencing and impacting public opinion, there is never any end of it to suit Mr. Trudeau's agenda in Canada; dividing Canadians, justifying abandoning the nation's natural resources, creating massive upheavals in Canadian heritage and culture through inappropriate mass immigration of people whose culture and values are inimical to Canada's; and forcing an agenda of Critical Race Theory, Diversity, Equality and Inclusion, along with Transgender issues.

For Canadian Jews, this is a time of huge destabilization, when the spectre of past antisemitic assaults on the Jewish community has flared into life with a passion of hate manifested through labour unions, academic institutions, and on the streets of cities across the nation with hordes of 'pro-Palestinian' protesters marching in condemnation of Israel for responding to an obscenely sadistic slaughter of Israelis by Hamas terrorists in Israel on October 7. Where calls to exterminate Israel are chanted and Jews are taunted and confronted, with no anti-hate laws enforced by authorities.

Canada's prime minister speaks of unity and division among people. He fails to address the scandalous fact that disunity and division runs rampant in Canada. It begins with his own actions, in alienating Canada's western provinces from its eastern provinces. It carries on when protesters arrive in convoys of dissenters to legally express their indignation over an autocratic government that issues diktats and when people object he names them as scum, homophobes, racists. 

The most recent examples carrying on from years of hate-mongering, are the crowds of Canadian Arab and Muslim citizens and their followers, including those illegally in Canada, who gather in numbers to decry and foment hatred against Israel and Jews. The most recent propellant of which is the horrendous slaughter of Israelis in villages and kibbutzim by Hamas terrorists invading from Gaza, causing Israel to launch a defensive/offensive conflict into Gaza to extirpate Hamas and its sibling organization Palestinian Islamic Jihad, both offshoots of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood.

In Germany, the United Kingdom and Australia, among other Western collegial democracies, these hate-filled, incitement-to-violence rallies have seen remedial responses from authorities. Canada's prime minister prefers to daintily deplore them, but will do nothing to forcefully put a stop to them. Protesters who last winter arrived in Ottawa demanding he resign merited the calling of the Emergencies Act and police dispersal and trials. That was personal to him, going so far as to freeze their bank accounts.

Arab Muslims in Canada who promote violence against Jews and Israel, leaving the Canadian Jewish community in fear, and necessitating that precautions against violence be undertaken with a police presence and guards around Jewish institutions fail to reflect the idealized Canadian unity that Justin Trudeau hypocritically promotes, but does nothing to ensure actually exists. Even welcoming into Canadian society people from cultures that nurse ancient tribal and religious antipathies toward others, incapable of adopting Canadian values, is an act of national destruction.

Pierre Poilievre, Justin Trudeau's political opposition in Parliament, calls for Canada to take action on criminalizing Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps -- the acknowledged financial supporter of Hamas -- listing them as a terrorist entity. Hamas is on that terror list, yet Hamas flags and even the black flag of the Islamic State appear prominently in the anti-Israel Palestinian mobs that scream 'gas the Jews', suggesting another try at a 'final solution' and other vile imprecations and threats against fellow Canadian citizens. 

Palestinian groups in Canada came out immediately following the grisly news out of Israel that an invasion of terrorist death-cult operatives from Hamas had invaded border villages, towns and kibbutzes under cover of emerging dawn on October 7 to massacre families in their homes, people waiting at bus stops, stopping cars to kill motorists and passengers, raping women beside the dead bodies of their friends at a music festival, abducting babies, infants, teens, women, the elderly to use them as hostages in exchange for criminal Palestinians in Israeli prisons. A time of wild celebration for Palestinians.

 

This proved to be a week of many revelations for Canadians, prompting many to question the character of our country and its citizenry. The scale of the butchery, the evidence of torture, including forcing parents and children to witness the mutilation each was undergoing before delivering the death blows, was beyond mere inhumanity. In Gaza, Palestinians rejoiced and celebrated over the slaughter. Palestinian men and teens used the opportunity of the protective fence that had been smashed through to enter those same villages to not only loot possessions of the dead, but to commit murder themselves, some of them the very Gazans who were permitted employment in Israel.

Palestinians in the West Bank joined the congratulatory celebrations at the great victory achieved by Hamas in murdering over a thousand civilian Israelis. Those celebrations spread throughout the Middle East. That such butchery is inconceivable to a civilized society merely emphasizes that Middle Eastern countries in general, but certainly not all, are firmly anchored in societal dysfunction, emotional and enlightened stagnation of a heritage dating back millennia of tribal and sectarian hatreds.

And that very same syndrome is seen now throughout the world wherever Arabs and Muslims have penetrated, shifting their presence in a great diaspora of migration and bringing with them their heritage and cultural values of Islamist dominance, detestation of social enlightenment as they adhere to the precepts of Sharia, refusing to integrate themselves with the laws and social mores of the countries they now prosper in while spreading the fiction of colonialist victimhood of a people returned to their ancestral home.

In Justin Trudeau's Canada, disunity and division, hatred and incitement to violence has been normalized. He speaks of justice and fairness, of adherence to the law, of equality and security yet he has allowed Canada to be manipulated by China, he has accepted the presence of people who connive to disrupt life and security for other segments of the Canadian population that they target for eradication and censure. His focus on 'feminism' of a type known only to himself; on the virtues of celebrating the uniqueness of the trans community disruptive in their infantile circus of theatrics further divides parental rights from children's welfare.

There is a vast litany of national failures in Canada now, thanks to the Liberal government headed by Justin Trudeau who boasts of a once-proud nation's post-national state of freedom, liberation, equality, diversity and inclusion. Delusional myths of hatefully bickering disunity in a country whose vast natural resources may no longer be exploited in favour of achieving environmental balance which fails to meet the demands of a global society capable of harnessing itself to respect for nature and the environment while responsibly harvesting its resources.

The most recent  riots of celebrations over the barbaric murders of innocent people, the torture of helpless civilians, the anguish over the fate of hundreds of children, women and men of all ages and health conditions in the hands of a remorseless murderous sect of religious fanatics whose public relations enterprise seems to attract the world's population of social deviants and psychopaths viewing the apathy in reaction of other segments of society against the horrors of terrorism sending us into a Dark Age of nihilism.

Canada's extradition system is a sore point with Bangladesh in its refusal to extradite Noor Chowdhury, convicted of assassinating former Bangladeshi president and founding father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Indian authorities have been furnishing Canadian diplomats and its federal police force with the names of Indian expatriates living in Canada against whom serious criminal charges of plotting to overthrow the government of India and being involved in causing the death of their critics whom India asked to be extradited. Just such a list was also delivered directly to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. All have been studiously ignored.

Canada has never been involved in any kind of conflict or nationalist challenges taking place in India or Bangladesh. Within Canada, living as citizens, are millions of emigrants from countries all over the world. India alone has a significant number of expatriates, almost 2 million Indo-Canadian citizens representing over 5% of the population. They are divided almost equally between Indian Hindus and Sikhs who live quietly as good law-abiding citizens. The exception is a small, vocal and often violent sub-group of Sikhs agitating in Canada for a separate homeland in India; Khalistan.

When a Vancouver-area Sikh leader was murdered in early summer, charges in the minority radicalized Sikh community had it that Indian state agents were involved. Several weeks ago, Canada's prime minister stood in the House of Commons to accuse "agents of the Government of India" of murdering the man, Hardeep Singh Nijjar without offering even a semblance of evidence, stating that it was all under investigation. Under investigation, but Trudeau saw fit to accuse a friendly government of sponsoring a murder in Canada.

Canada, just incidentally, is the country where the S.S. St.Louis was sent on its way back to Germany -- with terrified Jewish refugees begging for haven from the death camps -- by a country like others around the world that had no wish to burden themselves protecting Jews from an inevitable genocidal fate by Nazi Germany. Not before the eruption of World War II, not during its six tortuous years, nor following war's end. But Nazis, Germans and other nationals who volunteered their services to the Third Reich and swore allegiance to its Fuhrer encountered little entry resistance.

 

Former Nazis found Canada a comfortable place to live after the rigours of mounting a world war and annihilating Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, the mentally and physically unfit, and members of the Canadian military fighting with the Allies died and were wounded in their tens of thousands for freedom, justice and to put a stop to the desolation of inhumane intolerance and the mass slaughter of innocents. Jewish groups living in Canada attempted for decades to persuade government to expel the Nazis, to no avail.

 

And several weeks ago, while welcoming Ukraine's Jewish President-at-war-with-Russia Volodymyr Zelenskyy, unwitting, ignorant-of-history Parliamentarians gave two standing ovations to a special guest brought to the House of Commons to mark the occasion of the Ukrainian President's visit and address to Parliament. That special guest, a 98-year-old former Ukrainian volunteer member of the SS-Galicia-Division comprised of ethnic Ukrainians who swore allegiance to Adolf Hitler and helped in the slaughter of Jews and Poles.

 

Only several days ago was it also revealed that the Order of Canada was removed that had honoured yet another Ukrainian-Canadian who had fought in the very same SS Battalion against the Soviet Union for Nazi Germany. The shame that this has brought to Canada's reputation on the world stage is incalculable. None of which seems to concern prime minister Justin Trudeau to any great effect. He blithely goes about his business, scorning those who reproach him for his obtuse ineptitude.

 

India, incensed over Justin Trudeau's charge of state-sponsored murder, has most recently conveyed to Ottawa that it expects 41 of 62 Canadian diplomats to leave their missions in India by the following week. Short of cutting off diplomatic relations entirely in response to an unsubstantiated assault on the dignity and honour of another government's behaviour while an investigation is ongoing, India has voiced its displeasure with its ongoing relationship with a government whose conduct is lacking moral rectitude.

"The prime minister started this in a way that was clever, rather than strategically intelligent. You do not make this kind of accusation against a fellow democracy, not to one that is as influential as India, unless you have very solid incontrovertible evidence. And if you don’t publish something credible, you run the risk of walking into an Indian nationalistic trap."

"[Canada might have clear evidence that India was complicit in the assassination of Nijjar amid reports that the US shared key intelligence]. But having evidence is not enough. International relations are very unforgiving. For a long time, our prime minister has enjoyed a Teflon-like reputation. But once you lose that, you have to be extremely careful."

"Historically, we have not bullied other countries, we have not pushed our way around on the global stage. Now, that image is being challenged and possibly badly damaged."

"It’s unfortunate how avoidable this all was. Canada did not want to have a major confrontation with India, but it’s a basic violation of international relations – if you don’t want something to escalate, don’t start the process in public. And if you do, you have to be prepared to finish that fight."

Canada's Liberal Government's Love Affair with China

"The [opposition] Conservatives are calling on the Liberal government to stop making payments to the Asian Infrastructure Bank in light of the ongoing detention and lack of transparency around the trials of Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor in China. The party's foreign affairs critic says it's unacceptable that Canada would send about $40 million to the China-led agency."

"Michael Chong says the Liberal government should use all of the tools at its disposal, including withholding the payment, to put pressure on Chinese authorities to stop the trials of the two Michaels and to release them."

"Global Affairs Canada [Department of Foreign Affairs] and Finance Canada have not responded to several requests for information on whether the payment that's due this month has been made and whether Ottawa will withhold the payment."

Canada's relations with China are in the diplomatic dungeon. And two innocent Canadian citizens who just happened to be in China and thus vulnerable to abduction by Chinese authorities are now languishing in a Beijing dungeon, and have been for over two years. This is called 'hostage diplomacy' originating in China for the express purpose of placing other countries on notice that China will not be trifled with; should any country attempt to hold Chinese nationals to face justice for wrongdoing, China will exact its revenge.

Australia is suffering a different kind of destructive diplomacy which the Chinese Communist Party brought to bear to teach the Australian government that in holding China to account for its questionable role in failing to halt the spread of the novel coronavirus that first surfaced in Wuhan, China, there are consequences to be paid. Beijing exacted consequences on Australian wine, coal, agricultural products striking a blow against accountability for the more important purpose of bringing Australia to heel. It failed.

 

But Canada is eager to do the bidding of China, even at a dread cost, because the Liberal Party of Canada believes there is no greater benefit than aspiring to trade with the trade-and-production behemoth. Official Canada in the guise of the Liberal party in power cannot abase itself too much to satisfy Beijing. Covertly. Since the Canadian public has a very low opinion of China's tactics, from interfering in Canadian affairs to infiltrating government and business, to threatening Chinese-Canadians who fail to genuflect to Beijing, to abducting Canadian citizens.

 

This kind of hostage diplomacy is by no means confined only to Canada. In Canada's case it was inspired by the arrest on a U.S. warrant of Huawei Technologies' chief financial officer. An act that Beijing seethes is contrary to international law. Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig, the two abducted Canadian citizens accused of 'espionage' were put on trial in the past week; separate closed trials at which no Canadian diplomatic presence was permitted. Their verdicts are yet to be announced.

Huawei is vying for involvement in setting up Canada's 5G network. As a member of the Five Eyes intelligence network comprised of Great Britain, the United States, Australia and New Zealand, all of whom have refused Huawei entrance to their 5G upgrades, Canada still has not made a decision, imperilling its position within the Five Eyes, averse to Chinese involvement for obvious reasons of surveillance and espionage at which China is so superbly skilled and experienced.

 

During the trial of  Michael Kovrig on March 22, Canada was supported by the presence outside the courthouse of 26 diplomats from allied Western countries. Shortly afterward Canada joined its allies in sanctions against Chinese officials suspected of involvement in persecution of Uyghurs, the Muslim minority living in Xinjiang province. Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs alerted other countries of risks to their nationals in being detained by China should they have 'disagreements' with the CCP. 

Behind the scenes, covertly, three is a powerful high level lobby group, the Canada China Business Council that is planning to escort its members on a trip to the Chinese cities of Nanjing and Hangzhou on March 24. The CCBC board of directors represents Canada's power elite, its chair is Olivier Desmarais, senior vice-president of Power Corporation of Canada, of the billionaire Desmarais family. Former Prime Minister Jean Chretien, who while prime minister, led a number of business delegations to China, is his grandfather.

There will be involvement in the event by officials from the Shanghai Canadian Consulate along with Chinese government officials. Another partner for the event is CanExports Associations, a grant program under the authority of Global Affairs Canada. This follows on the commitment by the government of Justin Trudeau to fully engage commercially with China. A move expedited when Trudeau chose Dominic Barton as Canada's Ambassador to China, a man with ample experience and connections in China.

He was, in fact, managing director of a global consulting giant. Aside from which he personally has close commercial and financial interests in China. His appointment in September of 2019, not because he is a career diplomat, but because of his extensive insider contacts in China, sent the message to China that Canada values and gives high priority to a prized commercial relationship between the two countries. A relationship that trumps any other issues, inconsequential by comparison.

The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board investing taxpayers' money as a Crown corporation, has $56 billion representing 12 percent of their total investments, in China. That would include investments in companies with known links to human rights abuses. So, while condemning Beijing for its human rights abuses against Tibetans and Uyghurs and Christians in China; in particular what Canadian Members of Parliament just two weeks ago passed a resolution for, condemning Chinese 'genocide' against Muslim Uyghurs, official Canada gives its support to what it accuses China of.

Leaving China to understand, wink-wink, that despite the external noise that is so irritating to Beijing, it's business as usual, with Canada. Even though Beijing decided to withhold from Canada agreed-upon shipments of the CanSino vaccine that Canadian technology helped to develop, leaving the Canadian health care system void of desperately-needed vaccines. Another ill-judged, inept and ultimately life-destructive decision, courtesy of Justin Trudeau's love affair with China.
