Canada Transformed Under Its Liberal Government

Under the latest iteration in a succession of Liberal governments in Canada it has become clear that a government that once never hesitated to state its friendship and support for a sister democracy recognized in Israel has taken great pains in the last decade to distance itself from the Jewish state and at the same time alienate Jewish Canadians by its deliberate oblivious attitude to the groundswell of antisemitism that has washed ashore along with the welcome of immigrants, refugees, illegal migrants and foreign students studying at Canadian academic institutions hailing from the Middle East and North Africa.

 

A Canadian government at present that has blinkered itself from its constitutional obligations to ensure the security of all sectors of its population base. The rising tide of violence against Jewish institutions that has seen synagogues and Jewish schools firebombed and shot at, Jewish-owned businesses vandalized, university campuses housing anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian camps harassing the Jewish professoriate and students, issuing threats and slurs, intimating another Holocaust, with crowds of protesters thronging the streets chanting 'final solution' and 'from the river to the sea', roiling the social order, elicits a mild condemnation of antisemitism, invariably coupled with rejection of 'Islamophobia' from government leaders.

Canada has become a hotbed of Islamist extremism, with a loud and hateful (hopefully) minority of its two million Muslim citizens and  residents of the country seething with Jew-hate and openly demonstrating their contempt for Judaism in the guise of anti-Zionism, a hundred-year-old modern movement to reclaim Judean ancestral land as a reborn heritage homeland for the world's Jewish diaspora, ceaselessly threatened throughout the millennia. Zionism has become fundamental to Jewish thought for it speaks of memory and longing and a fervent wish for a geographic place that is Jewish, where the pogroms that haunted Jewish life for an eternity could be safeguarded against.

 

Even that hope  has been dashed time and again by the incandescent hate emanating from Israel's neighbours in the Middle East; now reduced to a  degree from neghbouring states, but taken up with a murderous vengeance by the fundamentalist Islamist groups that are funded, armed and protected by states such as Iran, Qatar and Turkey and their non-state terror groups whose sole function is to achieve the destruction of the Jewish state. Arabs identifying themselves as Palestinians, aided and abetted by the powerful global institution of the United Nations have endlessly attacked Israel, culminating in a bloody massacre on 7 October 2023 which led to Israel's invasion of the Gaza Strip to rout out Hamas which led that savage incursion into southern Israel.

 

Jews in Israel and worldwide, soon seeing the evidence of sadistic torture of innocent Israeli civilians, with girls and women mutilated then mass-raped and murdered, families set afire in their community homes as a mass atrocity of unthinkable brutality took place, might have felt that the world would be moved by their tragedy, but such was not the case. The viral antipathy of Israel defending itself and its people, responding to the mass atrocity with a determination to seek justice by military means of defence and counteroffensive, soon realized that even the evidence produced by the terrorists filming their own predatory obscenities made little difference.

 

Palestinians have been forgiven their descent into feral barbarism; Jews are condemned for their response in defence of their existence. The slanderous blood libels of Israeli 'genocide' against Palestinians have won the public relations gold cup. Few are prepared to outright state that the virulently threatening antisemitism now common on the streets of Canadian cities are the result of permitting people with a culture of Jew-hate and an ideological-religious inability to honour the values and laws of a democratic Western government are being perpetrated by bigoted, hate-mongering Islamists.

Should such accusations of source emanate from Jews themselves, despite that those who are attacked clearly identify their attackers as Muslim, and when law enforcement does step in in response to egregious attacks, names of the transgressors are clearly identifiable as Muslim, charges of racism and Islamophobia ring forth. The firm reluctance of Canadian governments at all levels to admit that the presence of unregenerated racists whose first and only loyalty is to Islam and its Koranic passages of anti-Jewish denigration and loathing links directly to the politics of voter loyalty at the ballot box.

Jewish Community Security Failures in Canada

What has happened to law abiding citizenship in Canada, the Canada we knew and loved where minority groups were  welcomed and the government boasted of its multiculturalism dimensions enriching Canadian culture, giving it greater scope and value. That was the Canada when immigrants were grateful to be accepted, when refugees were  happy to resettle themselves in a free and accepting society, when there were no incidents of mass illegal migrants storming our borders, a time when ethnic communities were free to cling to their traditions while integrating into the social order in Canada.

 

This is not the Canada we see today -- with some ethnic communities in silos of separation and compartmentalization from traditional Canadian values and the law -- has become common, where criminality is on the rise, where deep social fissures have been forged through deliberate regimented hostile group actions and where lawlessness and threats by one group against another have been ignored by government as Canada falls apart while the federal government itself displays hostility toward a former democratic ally.

Jews are being threatened and terrorized in this new, unpalatable Canada. Where for the past two years constant harassment of the Jewish community has gone 'unnoticed' by governments at all levels, and violent criminal acts take place with minimal reaction. Where young Muslim men inspired by the sadistic rape savagery of Hamas's October 7 mass atrocity which led to Israel's invasion of Gaza, have been arrested for attempted emulation of the terrorist victim abduction and rape of Israelis, on the streets of Canada. A serious crime that seemed to warrant bail-release for one of the accused.

 

An RCMP-led Integrated National Security Enforcement Team recognized the leader of the trio, Waleed Khan, with links to Islamic State. Most recently the Integrated Threat Assessment Centre issued a statement to the effect that they found no indication of "an imminent, credible threat"  meant to disrupt the 2025 holiday season in Canada; code for their belief that a Bondi Beach style terrorist attack that killed 15 Australian Jews and wounded 40 others was unlikely in their opinion at this time. Well, give it time...

 

On the other hand, reported ITAC, an attack by a lone actor or small group could not be entirely dismissed, since such an attack is not only plausible, but a "realistic possibility" -- upon the Jewish-Canadian community. A resurgent threat of religiously motivated violence has been acknowledged, with links to Islamic State. As in ... sooner or later. The three young men arrested for attempts to kidnap and rape Canadian Jewish women, reflects online social media incitement through ISIS auspices.

 

Hate crimes in Canada disproportionately aim at the Jewish community (with one percent of the population, Jews have been the recipients of 16 percent of all hate crimes between 2017 and 2023). And since October of 2023, reported hate crimes targeting Jews has skyrocketed. Where there were no fewer than 798 'demonstrations' that took place in Canada since the southern Israel terrorist attacks mounted by Palestinian terrorist groups led by Hamas.

The commonly-heard chorus of 'intifada, revolution' with Palestinian flag-waving, along with 'Palestine will be free from the river to the sea', both of which are deciphered readily to mean the destruction of Israel, have brought deserved notice in Britain which is grappling with its own Islamist fallout against British Jews. The Commissioner of the London Metropolitan Police Force Sir Mark Rowley and Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police Sir Stephen Watson, issued a statement warning that such phrases geared to strike fear in Jewish communities will be grounds for prosecution.

 

The Canadian Jewish community has pleaded time and again over the past two years, for government to act in good conscience on their behalf to ensure the security and safety of loyal Jewish-Canadians. Yet there has been no action of any substance to reassure Jews in Canada that they are regarded as citizens with full rights to live in peace and security. By continuing to permit the harassment and threats aimed at this community, the federal government has abdicated its responsibility of equality and justice under the laws of Canada. 

 

This diminishes Canada and mocks its values. Canada shaming itself by soiling its own laws, its politics, its social security obligations to all Canadians.

Canada Decimated By A Trudeau Bomb

"Not everyone associated with the Liberals, fortunately, is willing to debase themselves in front of the world like this. MP Marco Mendicino posted on X: 'I do not support [the UN's] call for Israel to agree to what is, effectively, an unconditional ceasefire'."

"Montreal MP Anthony Housefather similarly registered his displeasure with the vote: 'Hamas, a terrorist organization is entirely responsible for starting a war', he posted."

In an earlier  October 26 UN general assembly vote on a resolution calling for a "humanitarian truce" making no mention of the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel, Canada's ambassador to the UN stated Canada would not support the text since Hamas's role was ignored. His amendment to the resolution condemned Hamas, "it names what has to be named. If the proposed amendment is not adopted, the Assembly will not have recognized one of the world's worst terrorist attacks and we will all have to live with that failure", Bob Rae said at that time.

Canada's amendment failed to impress sufficiently, leaving Canada to abstain. Fast forward to Tuesday's UN general assembly, yet another non-binding UN motion calling for an 'immediate humanitarian ceasefire'. Yet again no mention of the Hamas atrocities on October 7, much less that it continues to send rockets into Israel, while its operatives face off with IDF troops in a Gaza ground war, even as its executive leaders issue orders from the security of Turkey and Qatar. The new resolution called for an 'immediate humanitarian ceasefire', once more failing to condemn Hamas. In the event, an Austrian amendment citing Hamas's role in instigating the conflict failed to garner support to pass. But that failed to impress Canada and it voted for the resolution, along with 152 other general assembly members.

This is the government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at work, finding it useful to abandon Canada's traditional role in support of a fellow democracy, one which shares the values and much of the culture that is traditionally Canada's. That WAS Canada's traditionally. Under this Liberal government much has gone by the wayside under its post-national, LGBTQ-2-devoted prime minister who has chosen to deep-six further development of Canada's immense riches in natural resources associated with the fossil fuel industry in favour of eschewing energy sources in gas and oil in favour of renewables uncertainties.

A government that has chosen not to delve too deeply in the intrusive threats of the Chinese Communist Party involving itself in stealth interference in Canada's elections, deleterious to Canada's sovereignty. Chinese 'police stations' established in a number of Canadian cities for the purpose of intimidating and threatening Chinese-Canadians who criticize the government in Beijing are allowed free rein, even while Canada is sanctimoniously involved in supporting China's environmental credentials through Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault acting as executive vice-chairman of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development, an advisory board of the People's Republic of China. Where Canada's official stance is denying development of its own energy resources, it partners with the country whose massive use of coal for energy is responsible for a major proportion of the world's production of carbon dioxide.

It's becoming increasingly difficult to recognize this new Canada. One that abandons its traditional role as a respecter and champion of human rights. A Canada that once stated openly and frequently that it would never abandon its support of the Jewish liberal democracy that is Israel, alone in a sea of autocratic kingdoms, tyrannies and theistic supporters of terrorism. Finally, in this government's abandonment of its allyship with Israel, it faces criticism from within its own caucus where multiple Liberal MPs despaired of Canada's vote at the United Nations, highlighting with clarity the Trudeau government's craven surrender to the domestic votes to be counted on from a large and growing Muslim population.

This suggestion must rank as the most cynical of sanctimonious yet, since it could not possibly escape anyone's notice that Israel, having had to cope with Palestinian violence and intransigence over multiple attempts at bargaining for peace, is very well versed in the thinking of Palestinian leaders. The Israeli leadership has for generations attempted to appease their Palestinian counterparts with concessions, all to no avail. It was never a two-state 'solution' that the world clamours for, that remained the goal of the Palestinians, but a one-state solution solved by the disappearance of Israel.

The Hamas charter states unequivocally that its purpose for existence is the destruction of Israel. It exists to kill, and has frequently jubilantly stated it loves death and martyrdom, and has groomed Palestinian Gazans to think similarly, prepared to surrender their lives for the murder of Jews. This Liberal MP knows this as well as anyone else with half a brain. But in the Liberal government of Justin Trudeau all is pretense and a show of pious virtue-signalling. This government's expanded immigration intake has gifted Canada with a stealth presence of illiberal, racist infiltration that Trudeau caters to for their vote-appeal.

And in the process, Justin Trudeau has betrayed the Canada that once was, transforming it steadily into a Canada no one can any longer recognizes. Among those dismayed at the transformation are Jews who have lived in this young country for over 260 years, deep in its history, steeped in their own history of Canadian antisemitism before and during the Holocaust when all doors were closed to Jewish refugees, to finally attain a place of equality and inclusion in the following decades, only to see their equality gains shrivel in the past decade, when immigrant/refugee numbers from the Middle East and North Africa imported Jew-hate that is finally fully in bloom threatening the security of Jews in Canada, just as Jews in Israel are facing existential threats, not least from the very institution formed to protect universal human rights.
