Great and Unfortunate Things

"[Some universities] failed to do the proper due diligence."
"We see now that he was not completely honest and he clearly did have frailties and failings. But he was teed up by a number of academic institutions because they desperately wanted a wunderkind."
"They desperately wanted to play on the fact he was young and Black and good-looking, and they wanted him to be their poster child."
James Cleverly, Black member of Parliament

"[Rather than trumpeting Arday's position as the university's youngest-ever Black professor Cambridge] could quietly have nurtured his talents and sorted out his problems, which were surely those of a young man out of his depth rather than a brazen impostor."
"It was the university, not the press, which was obsessed [with the colour of Arday's skin."
Charles Moore, former editor, Daily Telegraph

"Academic plagiarists don't usually make headlines, but Arday was not any old academic."
"He was publishing a high-profile memoir with celebrity blurbs ... He had chosen the spotlight."
Sarah Ditum, Times of London

Superstar academic Jason Arday, Guardian
In 2023 Cambridge University announced they had hired their youngest Black professor in the history of that grandest of academic institutions in Britain. Glowing with pride that they weren't too grand to welcome aboard a prodigy who just happened to be a young Black man with a self-confessed misfortune of ill health as a child, yet managed to overcome all odds to become what he presented himself as more latterly, an over-achiever whose accomplishments in sports and cerebral functioning were truly heroic.

Unfortunately his tenure at Cambridge came to an embarrassingly abrupt cessation. After three years of adulation as a Black Cambridge professor, hired as such at age 37, scandalous charges began to erupt, thanks to the efforts of a former Cambridge researcher who had balked with rage over the diversity agenda that had overtaken Cambridge. From his new perch in the Australian halls of academia, Nathan Cofnas announced evidence of plagiarism in Professor Arday's PhD thesis.

Cambridge's vaunted "respected scholar" who focused on developing representation of Black, Asian and other minorities in higher education had stumbled and toppled off his pedestal. The young man who asserted having been born with a form of autism spectrum disorder, affecting him with an inability to vocalize until he reached 11 years of age, speedily obtaining reading and writing skills several years later, stewed for weeks in media reports that claimed all of this to be fiction.

The focus of British universities on the hiring of academics representing racial and ethnic minority groups in a virtuous dedication to seeing their faculties reflect the characteristics of their greater presence in the evolved Britain that immigration, refugee and migrant intake had resulted in, arrived at a thudding obstacle. A setback for their program of hiring academics from racial and ethnic minorities in a Britain sensitive to the new faces stippling its population.

The feeding frenzy of the news media in analyzing Professor Arday's thesis, questioning his claims of having run 30 marathons in 35 days and raising $5.5 million pounds for charity all came under deep scrutiny. Professor Arday's memoir, "Great and Unfortunate Things" published only two weeks earlier, fed the race to debase the claims made by this man caught up in a maelstrom of defamation.

While Cambridge initially supported their Black prodigy, the scorn was just too much to bear for that august institution. If they melted under the heat of media publishing hundreds of debunking stories, it can only be imagined the desolation and despair that overtook young Jason Arday, helplessly seeing his world crumble at his feet. He resigned the very day that Cambridge stated it would open an investigaton in view of "new information" received about their young professor's "qualifications".

Simon Baron-Cohen, director of Cambridge University's Autism Research Centre warned that the focus of the media on a "vulnerable autistic man" rasied "safeguarding issues", which resonated with large segments of the population, who signed an open letter for the government to commission a public enquiry into the role the media played in dismissing and denigrating a socially and psychologically vulnerable man.

Social activist Patrick Vernon wrote that people should remember Jason Arday as a husband and father and not how the headlines portrayed him. I was his initiative that created a GoFundMe campaign to assist Arday's family after he committed suicide in a state of despair and humiliation. Dead at age 41, his life story, his dignity, his accomplishments reduced to lies that led others to believe he was what he imagined himself to be, not as he truly was. He has paid the ultimate price from an unforgiving public.

"He's not the prime minister of this country. He's not a current secretary of the civil service or local government or the [National Health Service]."
"But he was treated at the same standard, which is outrageous."
This [GoFundMe campaign] tells you that Britain still cares about justice, they care about inequalities."
"And more importantly, they really want to support Jason and his family in their hour of need."

Russia's Wagner Group Busy in the U.K.

"Anonymous recruiter proxies operating through internet chat rooms [on encrypted platforms had found young men] who were prepared to undergo a form of radicalization and betray their country for what seemed easy money."
"In past years, our parents and grandparents would have had a simple term for what Dylan Earl and Jake Reeves did: treason."
Judge Bobbie Cheema-Grubb, Old Bailey court, London

The Ukrainian-owned warehouse in Leyton, East London was torched in March 2024   PA Media

A loose network of young British men were jailed, given particularly long prison terms for their part in torching a warehouse that stored supplies for Ukraine, when the Russian paramilitary Wagner group recruited them alongside the attack's orchestrator. A March 2024 fire at an industrial estate in east London, drew a focus of attention on Russia's spying and sabotage campaigns that Moscow initiated along with its European proxies.

The Kremlin stands accused by Western nations of masterminding a string of incidents for the purpose of undermining support for Ukraine in its battles with the Russian invaders. Counter-terrorism police in the United Kingdom have made a series of arrests related to this critical issue.  Some of the six sentenced on Friday had their lawyers charge that Russian operatives preyed on their 'unsophisticated' clients' vulnerabilities, including financial, drug and mental health issues.

Some in the group, ages ranging from 19 to 22 at the time of the offence -- had plotted to kidnap a billionaire Russian dissident; a plot foiled by police -- as well as their involvement in the arson. Judge Cheema-Grubb declared the case highlighted "interference ... by a foreign power leveraging the greed and base instincts of unsophisticated individuals", as she went on to sentence the accused to varying, lengthy prison terms.

These were the first sentences handed out under the U.K.'s 2023 National Security Act, meant to counter evolving threats from hostile states. Earl, a low-level drug dealer from central England, had pleaded guilty to various offences including aggravated arson and possession of criminal property. He met, then corresponded with members of Wagner through the Telegram messaging app; a group classed as a "terrorist" organization, by Britain.

Earl went on to recruit Reeves -- a man he had never previously met -- to burn down the business that was supplying communications equipment to Ukraine. Fellow south Londoners Nii Mensah, 23, Jakeem Rose, 23, and Ugnius Usmena, 20, were then recruited by Reeves to torch the site, live-streaming it back to Earl. The last three were sentenced to between eight and ten years each. Dylan Earl received the longest term of 23 years, while co-defendant Jake Reeves was sentenced to 13 years.

Banning Israeli Soccer Fans to "Ease Tensions"

"Sports entertainment events should be enjoyed by all, regardless of their race, ethnicity and background."
"But there are rare instances where the political dynamics surrounding such spectacles cannot be ignored and where drastic action must be taken to ensure the safety of fans, players, staff and local residents."
"Now is the time to ease tensions, set aside political differences and focus on the football once more."
Birmingham MP Ayoub Khan
Maccabi Tel Aviv has said it will not accept ticket allocation from Aston Villa following news that its fans will not be permitted to attend a Europa League game next month.

Islamists, comfortable in their achieved berths within Western nations, where they quickly absorbed the lessons of democratic-liberal values and skillfully and creatively adapted their own stealth approaches to undermining those very values, learned to softly spout agreement in the Western social contract to demonstrate their upholding of those values, while subtly perverting them to their own cause.

After carefully making certain it would be understood that the values of equality and democracy were his own, Birmingham MP Ayoub Khan turned then to assuring his listeners that his only concerns were the safety and security of all concerned, and with that in mind, it was a necessary requirement to shut out a certain segment of society for the good of all. Cementing his sanctimony with a call for unity, and a cheery end note of enjoying sport events after eliminating distractions.

Those distractions just happening to be the presence of Jews. Jews from abroad, moreover, Israelis who planned to leave Israel on a sport-holiday in London to cheer on their team. But just as Jews carrying Israeli flags or wearing yarmulkes or star-of-David necklaces are informed by the Metropolitan Police that their presence is a goad to pro-Palestinian/Pro-Hamas/anti-Israel protesters who can be galvanized into violence at sighting them and they must either voluntarily leave or be 'escorted' away (i.e. arrested), the presence of Israeli fans at a sport event to cheer on their national team represents a social danger.

While antisemitism rages its incoherent hatred against Jews in Britain as a follow-up to the Hamas mass atrocity in southern Israel on October 7, 2023 -- and the Israeli military's incursion into Gaza, to settle with Hamas terrorism -- with never-ending marches, protests and demonstrations against Israel, Jews mounting counter-protests fail to receive the protection that is extended by police to the committed Jew-hating contingent represented by the U.K.'s Muslim population.

West Midlands Police in Birmingham classified a match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Aston Villa on November 6 as 'high risk'.  Citing safety as the rationale, the decision was made to disallow fans of the Tel Aviv team to the game. The Jewish Leadership Council noted: "It is perverse that away fans should be banned from a football match because West Midlands Police can't guarantee their safety".

But the simple fact is that the police face violence when pro-Hamas groups assemble. Those groups feel entitled to march, to pray en masse in public spaces stopping foot and vehicular traffic, that it is their right to chant slogans of killing Jews and sending them back to  Poland and shouting for a 'Final Solution'. They want to 'globalize the Intifada', and see Israel disappear, with 'Palestine' rising 'from the river to the sea'. They know they can smash and pillage in their rage, and there will be few consequences.

The classification by police as a danger best avoided, saw the local Birmingham council's Safety Advisory Group informing Aston Villa that no foreign (Israeli) fans would be permitted to attend the sport event. Motivated by the memory and fear of race riots in the district of Handsworth, the very prospect of violence erupting at a nearby sport event motivates West Midlands Police to opt for avoidance irrespective of the cost in a free and democratic society.

Although Prime Minister Keir Starmer declared that the banning of Jewish fans was "wrong" and that "we will not tolerate antisemitism on our streets", he and his government have done just that: tolerated antisemitism on the streets of Britain. That toleration has gone a long way to instilling confidence in the Muslim contingent of the U.K., prompting them to generate social instability, threats against British Jews, and the commission of criminal civic acts.

Rewarding Terrorism, Complicit in Support of Terrorism/France, U.K., Canada

"This is a reckless policy that undermines prospects for peace."
"It sets the dangerous precedent that violence, not diplomacy, is the most expedient means for terrorist groups like Hamas to achieve their political aims."
"[Recognition is] especially troubling [considering the Hamas terrorist attacks of October 7, 2023, when citizens of the U.K., France and Canada were among those killed that day]."
"Hamas's war crimes are clear, and its rejection of diplomacy should lead your countries to impose more pressure. Instead, you offer greater rewards."
Open letter to France, U.K., Canada by U.S. Republican Congressmen and Senators

"[Carney's recognition of a Palestinian state] vindicated [hostage-taking,  handing victory to the] violent mobs who block streets, vandalize businesses, target synagogues, and even shoot up schools [in Canada, post-7 October]."

"This action is an important step in establishing the right of the Palestinian people to their land and sanctities and on the path to establishing an independent state with Holy Quds as its capital, which is the result of years of struggle, perseverance, and sacrifice of our people on the path of freedom and return."
Hamas congratulatory response to Canada/U.K./France announcement
"We are proud to sacrifice [our] martyrs. We are prepared to stage events similar to October 7, 2023, again and again until Israel ceases to exist", stated Hamas spokesman Ghazi Hamad. This most recent congratulatory message by Hamas to Canada in response to Palestine-supportive statements from Canada's Liberal government is the third of its kind. Canadian branches of the Palestinian Youth Movement and Toronto4Palestine student group openly celebrated the attacks of October 7, organizing demonstrators to call for supplanting the "Zionist entity" with a Palestinian state.

Hamas has run the Gaza Strip since 2007   Getty Images

A sour note was hit by Toronto4Palestine, taking a break from applauding the Liberal Party's most recent turnabout from an ally and supporter of the state of Israel, to condemning it for its military response to the terrorist sweep through southern Israel when sadistic savagery was on full display with the rape and dismemberment of Israeli girls and women, and the massive death toll of Israeli children, women, men and foreign farm workers. Prime Minister Carney was condemned by Toronto4Palestine for calling for Hamas to "play no role in t he future governance of Palestine". Even while he was praised for recognition a Palestinian state without preconditions.

The stated conditions for recognition of the nascent Palestinian state, in Toronto4Palestine's opinion, "undermine Palestinian self determination", failing to "acknowledge the reality in Palestine". Of course, in actual fact, Hamas itself has long had a place on Canada's terrorist list. Flying the Hamas flag, celebrating its 'courage' in confronting the Zionist Entity by murdering civilians, rapine and pillage, under Canadian law merit arrest, but no such thing happened, while the pro-Hamas contingent in Canadian society rampaged through Canadian streets chanting to universalize the Intifada.

Canada's State Immunity Act emphasizes that a state must not wage aggressive war, must not commit atrocities and must not support terrorism to be recognized as a state. The status of state recognition has its rights, but carries responsibilities as well. States that finance, facilitate or take part in terrorism for the benefit of designated terror groups can be stripped of immunity and held to account in Canadian courts. The West Bank government of the Palestinian Authority which Canada proposes to govern a newly declared Palestinian state has and does in fact, finance, facilitate and take part in terrorism.

Promoting the Palestinian Authority as the future governing agent of the West Bank and Gaza elevates a  terrorist financing, promoting group. And if France, the U.K. and Canada promote this accession of Fatah, itself on terror lists (while forming the backbone of the Palestinian Authority) does that not make these three Western democratic countries complicit in terrorism themselves? At the very least, willing to look past these inconveniences to shore up their arguments that Israel's determination to rout out the terrorist Hamas which uses Palestinian civilians as shields, to hold Israel accountable for deaths that Hamas causes.

For years the Palestinian Authority has paid convicted terrorists and the families of those carrying out attacks, bonus awards for 'confronting the occupation'. The 'Occupation', needless to say, is Israel's defense against constant, ongoing Palestinian attacks against the Jewish state and its people. Rewarding terrorism incites more terrorist acts; a double game perfected by Palestinian politicians. And it is not only Hamas, but the Palestine Liberation Front, The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Fatah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and other terror groups beloved of the Palestinians all committed to Israel's annihilation.

Easily overlooked by Israel's allies now turned detractors and Palestinian human rights defenders, who deny Israel's human rights. Fatah founded the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade, another listed terrorist entity in Canada that excelled in suicide bombings, civilian shootings, kidnappings and October 7. Fatah is the terrorist arm of the Palestinian Authority, headed by Mahmoud Abbas. Whose popularity in the West Bank is low, while Hamas gains majority plaudits in the West Bank, greater than its support by Gaza residents.

Bullying Israel for Hamas's Barbaric Savagery

"This is a reckless policy that undermines prospects for peace."
"It sets the dangerous precedent that violence, not diplomacy, is the most expedient means for terrorist groups like Hamas to achieve their political aims."
"Hamas's war crimes are clear, and its rejection of diplomacy should lead your countries to impose more pressure. Instead, you offer greater rewards."
28 Republican members of U.S. Congress

"[My government's goal in recognizing Palestinian statehood is to keep the topic] front and centre [at the United Nations General Assembly with a host of] influential but not decisive countries."
"We're under no illusions that this is any sort of panacea, but it's necessary, in our judgment, and the judgment of most other countries in the world, that we have to push on this now."
"So, we're doing what we can, but recognizing limitations".
"Recognizing the Sate of Palestine, led by the Palestinian Authority empowers those who seek peaceful coexistence and the end of Hamas."

The Hamas movement welcomed the move by Britain, Canada, and Australia to recognize the state of Palestine, and expressed its satisfaction with the announcement of the decision by a number of other countries to officially recognize it in the near future.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney was called upon to "reconsider" his government's decision through an open letter from 25 Republican members of Congress and U.S. Senators. This, in response to the formal recognition that Carney's government gave for a Palestinian state prior to arriving in New York for the scheduled UN General Assembly. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macon were also directly addressed in the letter.
"We compel the Government of Canada to reverse this decision and support a future agreement developed through direct negotiation and mutual recognition."
"The consequences of this foreign policy decision will undoubtedly unfold domestically."
Iddo Moed, Israel’s ambassador to Ottawa

"Recognition under these circumstances does not bring us any closer to lasting peace, it only further compromises the prospect of a two-state solution."
"Today, our government has chosen appeasement over principle."
Richard Robertson, director of research and advocacy, B’nai Brith Canada

"[Carney’s decision is an attempt to distract Canadians from] rampant crime, costs, debt, immigration and job-loss [across the country]."
"Conservatives will always stand for Israel’s right to exist and defend itself, living next to a future demilitarized, terror-free, democratic and peaceful Palestinian State."
"Conservatives will focus on what is good for Canada because it is time to put our country first for a change."

When news of Carney's decision was first released, he was careful to condemn Hamas, and to ask for the return of the Israeli hostages from Gaza; that recognition would be contingent on a number of issues to be addressed; a democratic election to be held, Hamas to be removed from power in Gaza, that the Fatah-related Palestinian Authority prepare to govern both the West Bank and Gaza, and that Israel's right to exist be categorically supported. Fatah, as it happened, took part in the Hamas-instigated savagery of October 7.

None of the issues articulated by Mr. Carney as a prerequisite for Canada recognizing a Palestinian state have been addressed; the 'pay for slay' reward for Palestinian terrorists that gave handsome monetary gifts to Palestinians who attacked or murdered Israelis has been maintained in a covert form. Most Palestinians in the West Bank, according to a Palestinian poll, supported Hamas, not the governing body in the West Bank. So, none of the metrics that should accord with granting formal recognition of nationhood status have been fulfilled.

The U.S. Congress and Senate members letter went on to say that granting recognition is "especially troubling" in consideration of the Hamas attacks of October 7, 2023 -- reminding world leaders that Canada, France and the United Kingdom, as well as may other countries saw some of their own citizens murdered that fateful day. Moreover Hamas continues to hold  hostages, using them as "bargaining chips"; those still alive being held in "deplorable conditions".

Nonetheless, Carney in his wisdom insists that recognition of a Palestinian state does not legitimize terrorism, or compromise Canada's "steadfast support" for Israel. A support that Canadian Jews fail to recognize, particularly with this government that has never addressed the ongoing verbal and physical violence that Canadian Jews have been subjected to through the constant 'protests' taking place with pro-Palestinian mobs lionizing Hamas and slandering Israel while threatening Canadian Jews, promising a 'final solution', and inviting them to 'go back to Poland'. Hate crimes toward which Canadian laws should be addressed.
"[Allied partners were warned this was] counterproductive [to peace talks]."
"We actually think it's undermined negotiations, because it emboldened Hamas, and we think it undermines future prospects of peace in the region."
"It's what we thought would  happen [Israel moving to annex part of the West Bank in response to Canada 'unilaterally' declaring Palestinian statehood]."
"We warned that this kind of action would happen among some in Israeli government if they did what they did."
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio

Israel is Sovereign

"Extending recognition absent real change on the ground is a recipe for another failed Palestinian pseudo-state controlled by terrorists."
"It is deeply concerning that the government [of Canada] did not make statehood recognition contingent on the removal of Hamas from Gaza and the return of Israeli hostages. This only emboldens Hamas and condemns Palestinians and Israelis - including the hostages and their families -- to more suffering."
"Our community seeks an end to this painful conflict and a better future where Israelis and Palestinians can coexist in peace. As the prime minister previously said this requires a Palestinian state to be Zionist -- affirming the right of a democratic Jewish state to exist in safety."
"Preemptive recognition of a Palestinian state undermines this core principle."
"[This move by Prime Minister Carney is] predicated on misplaced faith in vague commitments by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas notorious for his corruption, lack of democratic credibility, and funding of terrorists."
Noah Shack, CEO, Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA)

"At minimum, I think it would have been prudent ... to have had a conversation. It's possible it took place. But it certainly doesn't seem that way."
"It is always a good idea not to take allies by surprise."
"Geography matters, and our neighbour [United States] is a super-power. And last time I checked, we still very much depend on them for our national security, and it will be so for a while, and so we have to be fairly balanced and careful about that."
Louise Blais, Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN for Canada, 2017-2021

"We have long ... felt that this should come later in a process and that our recognition ... of the State of Palestine, should come a point of maximum impact during a peace process."
"We're now at a position where, in our judgment and the judgment of others, the prospect of a Palestinian state is literally receding before our eyes."
"We make our own independent foreign policy positions, independent of the United States."
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney

"[President Trump] expressed his displeasure and his disagreement [with the leaders of France, the U.K. and Canada on that decision]."
"He feels as though that's rewarding Hamas at a time where Hamas is the true impediment to a ceasefire and to the release of all of the hostages."

France, Britain and now Canada, traditional allies of Israel, have decided between and among themselves and individually, that they know what road must be taken to solve the generations'-long antipathy between Israel and the Palestinians. They must also be aware that Israel has attempted through previous negotiations with Palestinian leaders to reach a peace agreement, and all have failed. They have failed primarily despite the concessions that Israel had agreed to, because Palestinian leaders steadfastly refused to recognize Israel's right of existence.

They failed because Palestinian leadership has always had an agenda, never expressed to the West, but amply to the Arab world, that their aspiration is for the absence of Israel on the ground on which it sits, where the self-entitled Palestinians would then take charge and realize their goal of sovereignty within the total geography, absent Israel. It is for this end that the Palestinian Authority and Hamas -- whose own enmity toward one another has been proven time and again -- teach the younger generation through a biased and venomous school curriculum that Jews exist illegally on Palestinian property.

These Palestinian children are groomed to hate, and hate they do, fed a diet of antisemitism and a heady infusion of glorious nationalism and religious fealty where the highest, most blessed inspiration to the faithful is to die a martyr for the 'cause' against oppression and denial of their rights of inheritance and recapture of 'Palestine'. The population in both the West Bank and Gaza has been force-fed hatred of Jews and the  glories inherent in self-sacrifice, to die a shaheed, and ascend to Paradise.

Those that do commit murder, who attack Israelis to maim and to kill, are rewarded by given hero-status, their families given financial rewards for their sacrifice. Palestinians found guilty of terrorism against Israel are incarcerated in Israel for their violent crimes, but bask in the knowledge that their families are well funded for their sacrifice. When Hamas invaded southern Israel with the PIJ and other terrorists, among them were Palestinian civilians who had been befriended and hired as farm labourers by the kibbutzim that were subjected to rape, torture and mass murder on October 7, 2023.

Yet Canada, France and Britain make themselves oblivious to the Palestinian polls that found most people in both Gaza and the West Bank, supported and approved of the ghastly horrors that took place on October 7. They felt justified in lionizing Hamas terrorism, and were complicit in the celebrations marking the sadistic savagery that took 1,200 Israeli lives and the hostage-taking of another 250 Israelis to be tortured, tormented and held as exchange prisoners.

If any of the countries that have expressed their willingness to formally recognize Palestinian statehood were faced with a similar situation, living next to a neighbour that continued to mount ongoing atrocities against their citizens there would not be a murmur of condemnation when they took up arms to defend themselves and above all, to destroy the menace that faced them without end. But the tiny nation of Jews living within their ancestral territory, within a sea of Islamic rule is harshly criticized and defamed.

Leaders of other countries feel entitled to ascribe the worst attack against Israel to its 'occupation'. The solution to which, they insist is to turn away from the tragedy and appease the terrorist culture that wounded and traumatized its population. As though a forced declaration of recognition of a Palestinian State would solve all the problems of living next to a terrorist culture that no other Arab nation in the Middle East will have themselves by offering haven to Palestinians who turn instead to the welcoming West.

The countries that now commit to bullying Israel into a self-harming commitment to overlook the unending violence committed against it by its neighbour are themselves heedlessly admitting the presence of Palestinian 'refugees' who swiftly demean the welcoming country, decrying the culture, values and laws, with the intention of creating social havoc in divisive displays of contempt for law and order, suspicion and distrust of authorities, and insistence that they have the right to import their dedication to disruption of all that is orderly and civilized.

"Canada's endorsement of a Palestinian state -- without a roadmap for peace or clarity on borders, leadership, or governance -- is not a step toward peace; it is a reward for terrorism."
"Prime minister Mark Carney does not have a plan. There is no agreement between the two parties. A two-state solution cannot be imposed from abroad. It must be the outcome of direct negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians."
"And yet none of that is happening."

Palestinian Self-Actualization Achieved Through Destroying Israel

"FBI  Chicago is conducting court-authorized law-enforcement activity in the Chicago area in relation to yesterday's tragic shooting in Washington, D.C."
"Last night's act of terror has the full attention of the FBI. Targeted antisemitic violence is an attack on our core values and will be met with the full weight of federal law enforcement."
"The individual responsible will be held accountable, and the bureau will continue pursuing every lead until justice is served."
FBI Director Kash Patel

Sarah Lynn Milgrim/Yaron Lischinsky
The Chicago apartment of Elias Rodriguez was raided on Thursday by the FBI on a search for evidence in the investigation of the 30-year-old who stands accused of killing two Israeli embassy employees the night before, in Washington. After he shot Yaron Lischinsky, 30, and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, 26, after pacing about in front of the Jewish museum and attacking four people leaving an event at the museum, opening fire on the two employees of the Israeli delegation to Washington, the shooter entered the museum in a state of visually disheveled psychosis. Thinking he was a man in fear and distress after hearing shots outside, he was offered aid and sympathy by those within the museum.

Security personnel at the museum apprehended the killer until police arrived. Social media videos show Rodriguez shouting, "Free, free Palestine", a red kaffiyeh fallen at his feet -- while police officers arrested him. Dan Bongino, FBI deputy director, stated the bureau "is aware of certain writings allegedly authored by the suspect, and we hope to have updates as to the authenticity very soon."
"The text of the manifesto stated that non-violent protests against Israel's actions in Gaza have been insufficient, and states that the 'perpetrators and abettors' of genocide have 'forfeited their humanity'."
"It also praises Aaron Bushnell, the 25-year-old active-duty U .S. Airman who died after setting himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in Washington, D.C., on February 25, 2024."
Anti-Defamation League
A day following the shooting of the two Israeli embassy employees, the Anti-Defamation League announced that its investigations had connected Rodriguez "with a high degree of certainty" to a manifesto circulating on social media, titled "Escalate for Gaza. Bring the War Home". Posts linked to the murderer on a social media account contain statements confirming that he holds far-left, violent, pro-Hamas, anti-Israel sentiments.
"Once in handcuffs, the suspect identified where he discarded the weapon, and that weapon has been recovered, and  he implied that he committed the offence."
"We believe the shooting was committed by a single suspect."
Washington Police Chief
There are many more like this man scattered in some degree of profusion throughout Western society, infected by the scourge of Jew-hate, who feel empowered in the current climate of open normalization of antisemitism. The lack of official reaction throughout the West, in North America and in Europe, to the constant gathering of 'pro-Palestinian' supporters organized by Palestinian youth groups and supported by academia, unions and the general underbelly of any society of Jew-haters have spewed their volatile acid of hate and incitements to violence without repercussions.

Student groups comprised primarily and led by Muslim students -- and featuring Palestinian student leader organizers who demonize Israel, and hold Jews wherever they live accountable for the military actions undertaken by the state of Israel in response to the barbaric savagery of Palestinian terrorists in their thousands invading southern Israel in a chaotic spree of rape, mutilation, looting, and mass murder all of which are construed by the mobs of haters as just actions by a people struggling against 'occupation' by a genocidal neighbour -- have been given free reign to threaten Jewish students while spouting slanderous accusations.

That lack of intervention by authorities who should logically be upholding laws against inciting to violence and civic law-breaking have gone a far distance to encouraging the entitlement of organizers to mount ever more blatantly hateful rallies, aggressive and threatening toward residents of Jewish neighbourhoods, and by their inaction enabling and encouraging vandalism of Jewish businesses, synagogues and community centers.

Above all, the finishing touches so recently mounted by the Prime Minister of Britain in alliance with France's President and Canada's newly-elected Prime Minister in issuing a joint statement condemning Israel for its 'disproportionate' response to the slaughter of Israelis, where the invasion of Gaza and the search for Hamas leaders and their terrorist operatives have led to collateral civilian deaths and injuries have led to Western leaders censuring Israel, while refraining from pressuring Qatar's influence to force Hamas to release the Israeli hostages languishing between life and death in Gaza.

The pious sanctimony of France's Macron, Britain's Starmer and Canada's Carney in lecturing and distorting a situation where a Jewish nation faces enemy violations of human rights in the commitment of Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis and the Islamic Republic of Iran's charter of Israel's destruction at their hands and the release of ancestral Judean lands for the ethnic rabble who call themselves Palestinians to take hold of the state they repeatedly turned down in negotiations with Israel, finally achieving their objective of destroying Israel and annihilating Jews appears a prospect not entirely displeasing to Canada/Britain/France on the record of their response to the Jewish state's existential trauma.

Little wonder then, when Western academia, unions, leadership, politics all align in favour of the  violence expressed by Palestinians and their supporters, catalyze the psychotic hatred of the death-cult of terrorism to propel committed antisemites of either Western heritage or Middle Eastern to act out their fantasies of murder of Jews standing in the way of imagined Palestinian self-actualization achieved through unbridled lethal violence.

The  two Israeli embassy employees unmercifully shot to death by an acolyte of Palestinian terrorism, schooled by social media, by academic student and faculty demonstrations, by the disinterest of political authorities in putting a stop to the growing aura of violent entitlement represent the latest innocent victims of a hate-juggernaut whose impetus grows in lock-step with ongoing frenzied symbols of Islamist conquest of the West, of which Israel is only the first target, and the sole nation fighting a war that will eventually sweep through the entirety of Western democracy.

Canada, a Harbour For Nazi War Criminals

"Canada has a really dark history with Nazis in Canada."
"There was a point in our history where it was easier to get in [immigrate to Canada] as a Nazi than it was as a Jewish person."
"I think that's a history we have to reconcile."
Immigration Minister Marc Miller

"What little we know of their [SS members] war record is bad."
"We're still hoping to get rid of the less desirable Ukrainian PoWs either to Germany or to Canada."
British Home Office official Beryl Hughes, 1948

Documents compiled by a commission set up in the 1980s to scrutinize Canada's record in permitting members of the Nazi SS into Canada through government-sanctioned visas, including members of the Ukrainian collaborationist special ethnic SS-linked divisions meant to work with German SS units in
rounding up Jews in massive pogroms of shooting deaths -- part of the Holocaust's 'Final Solution', a priority with Nazi Germany while it was prosecuting World War I --, have never been made available for public scrutiny.

In the wake of a public scandal where a North Bay Ukrainian military veteran was invited to parliament to meet with visiting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy who was to address the House of Commons, where the entire House inclusive of parliamentarians and diplomatic guests rose on the introduction of the 98-year-old, a former volunteer serving with a Ukrainian SS division, Jewish groups in Canada are now demanding the release of the documents, unredacted.

The 40-year-old report along with allied documents that contain details relating to Nazi war criminals residing in Canada remains in a 'secret' category. It represents a second portion of a 1986 government-commissioned report on Nazis who were permitted to enter and settle in Canada. Another 1986 report was heavily censored, one that examined how it was that Nazis were enabled to enter Canada to begin with, post World War Two. That commission was struck in the wake of years of Jewish groups urging the government to investigate and extradite Nazi war criminals known to be living in Canada.

Over 600 pages of the document finally obtained through the country's Access to Information law, was censored. B'nai Brith is now demanding the release of RCMP and Department of Justice files on Nazi war criminals in Canada. "We've run up against a brick wall", commented David Matas, counsel for the Jewish advocacy organization ... in view of the government's ongoing decision to withhold such records from public view. A ray of hope shimmered briefly when Canada's Immigration Minister Marc Miller allowed that the government might reconsider whether the records could be released.

Canada's track record, he commented pointedly, with Nazi criminals was notoriously poor. B'nai Brith pointed out in a submission to the House of Commons committee on Access to Information in February that the government's approach to Nazi war criminals reflected its "intentional harbouring of known Nazi war criminals" along with "deliberate inaction".

And that historical puzzle has now been resurrected since MPs in the House of Commons a week ago honoured a Canadian-Ukrainian who had served in a Nazi SS division. Two standing ovations from those present were awarded Yaroslav Hunka, sparking outrage on social media, prompting the resignation of the House of Commons Speaker Anthony Rota on whose invitation to the man living in North Bay, arrived at the House of Commons, with no one apparently aware, despite that House security and Canadian intelligence services were to have scrutinized the man's background prior to his entrance.

The now-98-year-old had volunteered to fight with the 14th Waffen-SS Division Galicia, a Nazi military unit recruiting Ukrainians to fight alongside German SS groups, and more to the point, help in the extermination of Europe's Jews. Poland, along with Jewish groups denounced the infamous division, citing its role in killing civilians in grouped massacres during the war. Poland, in fact has petitioned Canada for the man's extradition as a war criminal.

Large numbers of SS soldiers and other Nazi collaborators from eastern Europe settled after the war in Canada. Jewish refugee-survivors who had also come to Canada, spoke in shocked whispers to one another when they recognized on the streets of Toronto, German SS members they had last seen in the ghettos and death camps. Many of the records sought have links to the 1986 war crimes commission that was led by Justice Jules Deschenes.

The International Military Tribunal had declared the SS a criminal organization, including units of the Waffen SS, like the Galicia division that Yaroslav Hunka had fought with. There are nationalist Ukrainian-Canadians today, who view the 14th Waffen Division as heroic for battling Soviet forces who at that time were allies with the US, Canada and Britain after Russia was invaded by Germany despite Russia having begun the war as part of the Axis group.

The release in Britain in 2005 of documents from British archives outlined concerns relating to the members of SS Galicia along with intentions to ship them to Canada. "The Division was an SS division and technically all of its officers and senior NCOs are liable for trial as war criminals", noted one report for the British government. In another report dated 1948 there were discussions on sending SS members to Canada. And they did.
