Will The Real Mahmoud Abbas Please Stand UP?!!!

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas lost little time in responding to the 20-point journey to end the conflict in Gaza occasioned by the 7 October 2023 incursion into Israel by thousands of Palestinian terrorists and civilians orchestrated by Hamas on a mission to slaughter Israeli civilians, rape Israeli girls and women, dismember their victims in an orgy of sadistic pleasure, and take children, the elderly, women and Israeli soldiers captive as hostages into Gaza. Hamas and the PA [PLO/Fatah] have always been political rivals, the former leading a secular authority, the latter committed to an Islamist state.

 

When the 20-point plan was released, PA President Abbas announced he was prepared to be enlisted within the plan to provide "a modern and democratic state that abides by international law, the rule of law and multilateralism and the peaceful transition of power". The Palestinian Authority under his rule was prepared to work the U.S. and assigned partners in the implementation of the peace plan; he is "ready to bear full responsibility for governance and security" in the absence of Hamas.

 

With the support of the peace plan behind him, the man promising a democratic government who has himself ruled the West Bank after an initial election two decades earlier that was never again brought to the polls, assured his Western contacts that his preparedness is there, and Hamas must hand over its weapons to the Palestinian National Authority. The messages he sends expressed in Arabic to an Arab audience fail to quite match the statements of commitment to peace and good order and rejection of violence that the UN heard from him.

After the butchery of October 7, 2023, when Israelis were reeling in disbelief and sorrow, Mahmoud Abbas eventually, after a five-day hiatus expressed his sentiments on the massacre during a meeting with King Abdullah of Jordan while in Amman, stating: "We reject the practices of killing civilians or abusing them on both sides", handily glossing over his leading role in producing school curricula for Palestinian children that characterize Jews and Israelis as loathsome colonialists stealing Palestinian land, urging children to contemplate the glory of martyrdom in defiance of Israeli 'oppression', as a cruel 'occupier'.

 

When speaking in June to the PA's daily paper Al-Hayat Al Jadida, Mr. Abbas outright applauded the October 7 massacre for "achieving important goals", attracting the attention of Palestinian Media Watch for translation to English as he celebrated the strategic achievement that Hamas achieved that day. On the other hand in a letter to French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman he wrote: "What Hamas did on October 2023 in killing and taking civilians hostage is unacceptable and condemnable and Hamas must immediately release all hostages". 

"As important as the goals that Hamas attempted to achieve through this attack may have been, they are not comparable to the damages and heavy losses that the Gaza Strip residents ... have suffered."

Organizers of an open letter demanding a new curriculum in British Columbia's school system that would feature politicized content on the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians include the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Network which has its headquarters in Vancouver, and which is known to have close associations with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, widely acknowledged as a terrorist group, listed on Canada's designated list of international terrorist organizations. 

Samidoun has recognition from Germany -- the 20th century's infamous, most lethal proponent of acidic antisemitism -- as a major proponent of repulsive racist hatred toward Jews, and as such is not only deemed a terrorist group, but is proscribed from operating in Germany, in accord with its laws against Holocaust denial and antisemitism in a state dedication to rejecting its shameful past in recognition of its monumental debt to humanity. 

In Justin Trudeau's Canada, with the Liberal leader's eye fixed on a large and growing voting bloc, unwilling to hazard alienating Arab/Palestinian/Muslim votes, Samidoun with its well-known penchant for demonizing Israel and Jews is nonchalantly permitted to operate. On October 7, even while Hamas began committing its widespread atrocities in southern Israel, Samidoun's statement glorified the ongoing massacre:

"The resistance is rising throughout occupied Palestine, smashing the siege on Gaza with a comprehensive  offensive, confronting the occupier by land, air and sea", completing its jubilant sentiment over sadistic savagery with images of terrorists clad in keffiyehs.

The British Columbia education ministry responded to the letter non-committally, leaving open an opportunity for committed antisemites in its public school system to proceed with their own biased interpretation, apart from, or filling in the regular school curriculum by advising parents to contact their child's teacher or principal should they wish to discuss what is being taught in the school their children attend.

 

At the Annual General Meeting of the British Columbia Teachers’ Federation (BCTF), teacher delegates passed a historic motion about Palestine. The motion asked the BCTF to push the Ministry of Education to include the Nakba and the military occupation of Gaza and the West Bank in the BC curriculum.  Spring Magazine

These 'social activists' looking to improve on the reality of historical events they view with the jaundiced eye of cherished victimhood, sent their letter with its demands to Rachna Singh, British Columbia's minister of Education and Child Care, insisting social studies curricula in the province be overhauled to draw attention to the "Nakba" (catastrophe) that Palestinians mourn and Jews celebrate, as the formal rebirth of the State of Israel.

This refers to the time when five Arab countries responded to the declaration of statehood for Israel by amassing a collective military assault on the nascent Jewish State. Historian Gil Troy's thought was the implementation of a constructive lesson plan could alternately examine support for partition and the two-state solution from then-diplomat Lester B. Pearson, later Nobel Laureate, and Prime Minister of Canada. A lesson plan that would provoke students "to think for themselves" not reliant on "partisan lies" as a service to young students.

Samidoun was not alone in writing the letter with its appeal for justification in 'adjusting' history. There was input by other interested 'pro-Palestinian' (the preferred term to 'anti-Israel, anti-Jew) groups such as Teachers 4 Palestine BC, Palestinian Youth Movement Vancouver, and Independent Jewish Voices, a fringe group promoting Holocaust denial conspiracies which doesn't hesitate to participate in events staged by antisemites and sympathizers of terrorism aimed at Jews and Israel.

"By not acknowledging that most Palestinian Arabs rejected the compromise -- and encouraged terrorist attacks on their Palestinian Jewish neighbours -- the petition, and implicitly the curriculum doesn't explain how the war truly began."

To be perfectly clear here, Palestinian Gaza's Hamas rulers committed unspeakable acts of inhumanity against thousands of infants, teens, girls and women, elderly and Israeli soldiers in their brazen demonstration of savagery unlike anything the world can imagine perpetrated by trained killers purporting to be liberators of Palestine. So proud of their inhumanity that they recorded for posterity in real time the atrocities they committed against helpless people. Crimes that will join the annals of the world's evil excesses in barbarity.

Perhaps even more shocking is that hordes of ordinary Palestinian men and teens flooded into Israel after the Hamas operatives to take joy and pleasure in the circumstances that allowed them to commit violence similar to what the terrorists themselves were perpetrating in an orgy of blood-letting and merciless mutilations. These are the people who support Hamas, these are the people who emulate Hamas, and for whom inflicting terror and vicious pain on people they've been instructed and taught to hate is entertainment.

The prime minister of Canada himself, in full knowledge of the extent of the excruciatingly dreadful acts committed by the terrorist group chose to instantly believe what their 'Health Authority' claimed in charging that Israeli forces bombed a hospital and that 500 innocent Palestinians were killed, as a result. Israel's immediate rejoinder explaining that it was Palestinian Islamic Jihad which was firing rockets off from nearby grounds and that one of the rockets exploded and fell onto the hospital parking lot was rejected 'until proof could be found' their explanation reflected reality.

"I'm horrified by the loss of life at Al Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza. My thoughts are with those who lost loved ones."

The prime minister's insinuation that Israel was responsible for bombing the hospital and must be held to account was belied when days later Defence Minister Bill Blair made the announcement that the Canadian Forces Intelligence Command's independent analyses indicated "with a high degree of confidence" that it was not Israel that struck the hospital; that "the more likely scenario is that the strike was caused by an errant rocket fired from Gaza". Trudeau has not since apologized.

And nor was the hospital destroyed, much less hit. It was vehicles parked in the hospital parking lot that took the brunt of the damage. No doubt there were casualties; the hospital director himself some days later minimized the total afflicted. But to critics and haters of Israel, the guilt will remain with the original accusations that also blame it for the rampage by Hamas terrorists for the slaughter of families in their homes and streets of the towns and kibbutzim and the music festival at Re'im.

In Canada, since the horrors of October 7, dozens of demonstrations have taken place, rallying protesters around the fiction that Israel is intent on carrying out a "genocide" of Palestinians in Gaza. Organizers exhort Canadians to support a "resistance" that legitimates terrorism that sees nothing amiss when proof is provided, courtesy of Hamas operatives themselves, of dismembered babies and families burned alive in their homes after being tortured.

Now, there are universal calls for a "ceasefire" in Gaza based on the narrative that the "root cause" of the horrors that took place in Gaza can be attributed to "Israel's decades-long occupation of Palestinian territory", which just happens to be a Biblical-era-forward geography of ancestral Judaean land reclaimed by its rightful indigenous inheritors.
