United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon strongly criticizes the Hizbullah terror group in a new report to the UN Security Council, it was reported Thursday.

In the report, Ban wrote that Hizbullah threatens the stability and security of Lebanon. As an example, he cited the drone that Hizbullah recently sent into Israel as an act that threatens Lebanon.
Ban also mentioned Hizbullah’s involvement in the civil war in Syria and wrote that the group’s extensive arsenal of weapons threatens the security in Damascus.

The Israeli Air Force subsequently shot down the Iranian made drone which entered the country's airspace two weeks ago.

Hizbullah chief Hassan Nasrallah later boasted that his group sent the unmanned drone over Israel. The group’s Al-Manar television network last week broadcast a video which the network claimed simulates the route made by the unmanned drone.

The simulation clearly showed that the drone had a camera which photographed the targets over which it flew.

Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, Ron Prosor, called the Security Council on Monday to take strong measures against Hizbullah because of the drone incident.

“Some countries that are sitting around the Council’s table continue to provide free rein to Hizbullah to raise money as if it were the Red Cross, not a terrorist group which threatens to plunge the region into bloodshed,” said Prosor.

He added that by providing Hizbullah with sophisticated arms, Iran is turning Lebanon into an “outpost for terror.”

The U.S. ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice, told the Security Council this week that Hizbullah is working to bolster Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime and its fighters are part of his “killing machine.”
