Morbidly Deadly Lunacy

"I will bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to those in LAPD uniform whether on or off duty. Unfortunately, I will not be alive to see my name cleared. That's what this is about, my name. A man is nothing without his name."
"I never had the opportunity to have a family of my own. I'm terminating yours. Look your wives/husbands and surviving children directly in the face and tell them the truth as to why your children are dead."
"Unfortunately, this is a necessary evil that I do not enjoy but must partake (sic) and complete for substantial change to occur within the LAPD and reclaim my name."
American murder suspect Christopher Dorner

This peevish childish set of explanations for launching himself on a mission to destroy lives of those he blames for destroying his career with the Los Angeles Police Department, clearly reflects a badly distorted mind.  Someone who sanctimoniously defends killing people because they wronged him. And in so doing they have lost the right to live. This man has compiled a list of police officers whom he intends to murder. To teach the entire police department a lesson in righteous indignation.

Which hardly explains why he would stalk and murder the daughter of a former LAPD captain who changed course and became a lawyer, one who represented Mr. Dorner before the Board of Rights, that in the end ruled against him when he was dismissed from the police force. His dismissal came about because he gave false evidence against a fellow police officer, claiming him to have abused prisoners, when nothing of the kind had occurred.

That lawyer's daughter, and her fiance were gunned down, shot to death in a parking garage in the apartment where they lived. This is irrational malevolence, a depth of horrendous malice that is inexplicable other than that the mind that conceived of it is stark, raving mad. And the man attached to that mind is on the loose, and planning to murder others. He also shot to death another police officer, and injured several others.  Police, and their family members are, to him, "fair game".

He the hunter, they the hunted. And the police department personnel know just how lethal a murderer they have roaming in public. A man with military training, who knows how to use firearms to his advantage, and is on a shooting rampage, filled with brooding rage against those he insists have ruined his life. "My opinion of the suspect is unprintable. The manifesto I think speaks for itself as evidence enough of a depraved and abandoned mind and heart", Riverside police Chief Sergio Diaz said.

This murderous lunatic wrote a manifesto setting out his grievance. "To those children of the officers who are eradicated, your parent was not the individual you thought they were. As you get older, you will see the evidence that  your parent was a tyrant. Suppressing the truth will lead to deadly consequences for you and your family ... I will bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to those in LAPD uniform whether on or off duty ... You will now live the life of the prey."

And he rambles on incoherently, tangentially, from personal grievance to social conscience grievance, expressing pride that a black man is now president of his country, fulminating against the NRA and gun ownership: "The time is now to reinstate [an assault weapon] ban that will save lives. Why does any sportsman need a 30 round magazine for hunting? Why does anyone need a suppressor? Why does anyone need a AR15 rifle?"

More than adequately demonstrating precisely why weapons availability should be restricted, particularly from those with mental illness, where a madman in possession of such weapons has run amok threatening countless lives, successfully ending some, calling a malediction down upon the relatives of those he has murdered, and railing against assault rifle ownership.
