Martyrdom-Seeking

So much for the pacifying effect of women on a brutishly violent male patriarchy.  Eighteen-year-old Fatima evidently felt she could be the equal in honourable valour to present before Paradise, of any man inspired to do so for the reward of countless willing virgins.  Fatima sacrificed herself for the pure unadulterated pleasure of honouring her maker.

And favouring her maker as well with the deaths of no fewer than fourteen unfortunate people including, best of all, ten foreigners who worked as flight crew members under contract with the U.S. government.  Quite a haul for an ambitious suicidist; herself mangled to shreds, along with four Afghans and ten aliens representing the hated United States of America.  (Though they were South Africans; details, details.)

She drove a little Toyota Corolla packed with explosives head on into a minibus.  All twelve aboard the minibus and two passersby were annihilated in one fell swoop.  Not that the foreign element in Afghanistan is experiencing any problem understanding the situation as it pertains to their presence among resentfully deadly Afghans.

New limits have been imposed, resulting from the ongoing and even accelerating attacks by Afghan police and army personnel against ISAF personnel.  There, as it happens, representing a Western and NATO commitment not to abandon Afghanistan to relive its fate under the Taliban whom they routed in 2002.  Of course foreign troops are alert to the possibility of attacks as a result of the video the Innocence of Muslims.

For they are well aware that outraged, vengeful and viciously violent Muslims are determined to prove their innocence.  As did 18-year-old Fatima from Kabul.
