Politic?

This is a blog dedicated to a personal interpretation of political news of the day. I attempt to be as knowledgeable as possible before commenting and committing my thoughts to a day's communication.

Canada, France, Italy, Qatar, UAE

It makes sense for Canada to formally recognize the provisional rebel council in Libya. We are there, after all, as an integral force within NATO, tasked with ensuring that the Gadhafi regime does not successfully obliterate all the rebel forces entirely. Although that does appear to be his ultimate goal; total annihilation of all vestiges of government dissenters.

And the punishment has been broadened with Moammar Gadhafi's decision to employ the kind of vicious punishments against his dissenting population that has proven to be so popular in other African countries, like Sudan, Sierra Leone, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Central African Republic. Systematic rape of women and children has proven most effective in destroying lives.

Giving impetus to the need to protect populations that their very own governments viciously prey upon. In recognizing the transitional rebel council as the official representation of Libya, the Libyan diplomatic contingent currently ensconced within the country's embassy in Ottawa will be considered persona non grata. Their removal will doubtless be swift.

Canada has joined France, Italy, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates in recognition of the rebel council's legitimacy. And Canada's government has been united among its political parties in authorizing a continuance of military involvement up to September of 2011. At which time it should be assured that Colonel Gadhafi will be absented from Libya.

He may decide to travel to Russia, to be domiciled in a grand tent in Moscow close by the Kremlin, where he will be available to play chess with the Russian chess grandmaster who speaks to space aliens and on his off-days travels to Libya to persuade mad-dog dictators to step politely aside.
