Smile, You're on Candid Camera, Canada!

"Among the several commitments Canada has made to Qatar in the hopes of convincing the Gulf autocracy's ruling Al Thani family to double down on its energy investments in Canada is a June 25 memorandum of understanding between Canada's Public Safety ministry and Qatar's Internal Security Force. It's also under wraps, like the RCMP agreement with Beijing's Public Security ministry."
"The deal is supposed to extend Canada's co-operation on a variety of law enforcement portfolios, including money laundering, financial crime and terrorism."
"This will be unavoidably awkward, owing to the Al Thani family's conviction that the terrorist front Hamas, the Palestinian offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, is merely a national liberation movement."
"Qatar is already notorious in Canada's national security circles for the hundreds of millions of dollars it lavishes on the Muslim Brotherhood and its Canadian fronts and affiliates."

Canada is at an impasse in attempting to deal with mercurial U.S. President Donald Trump, wedded to the big stick he wields with wild abandon, striking friend and foe alike with threatening tariffs geared to make them tremble in trepidation over the suddenly-wobbly state of their economy. The entire world economy is shaken to its foundations when America suddenly becomes unreliable, both in its trade and commerce cooperation with allies and competitors alike, ditching diplomacy for belligerence in expressions of bad faith and contempt toward other nations.

I like this guy': Carney gets warm words from Trump. The ...
"I like this guy!" CBC

Trade dependency on a geographic neighbour may make common sense when one country is viewed as the junior, valued for its abundance of natural resources, prepared to continue its trade relationship with the other whose appetite for energy and mineral extraction is boundless. The exchange of raw resources with finished products has always been reflected in the trade relationship. Advanced to the junior partner in later decades through the sharing of production to the benefit of both.

Canada's standard of living reliant on the good graces of its neighbour, received a shock when that neighbour suddenly began growling and grumbling about being taken for granted, insufficiently adored for its generosity, and become fed up with being milked in unfair trade practises. And the trade deficit!!!Then the junior reeled back in dismay at the very pronouncements of a trade-enforced geographic-sovereign-lost-merger, genially imposed by its powerful neighbour.

Trade-diversion and -diversity imposed becoming the order of the day, the month, the year, stretching into infinity. Pierre Elliott Trudeau back in the distant past embarked on a similar adventure, but it somehow never progressed to the point of being. Canada's new foreign-policy trade agreements under current prime minister Mark Carney, a self-professed economic genius, now has his turn. Jean Chretien in his day made frequent exploratory-trade visits to China with a full regalia of government ministers and corporate elites in tow.

In a year-and-a-half, Mr. Carney and his ministers have gone to 29 foreign capitals to drum up trade agreements with countries Canada has much in common with; Liberal democracies, and unsavoury others as well. He launched a "new world order" partnership with China, opening Canadian manufacturing and vehicle production in particular, to the trade-predatory Chinese Communist Party in Beijing. Taking no notice at the same time of China's human rights record on Tibet and Xinjiang.

China's predation is right out there in plain sight; countries that have imported cheaply-produced Chinese products valued by global consumers for their low prices have seen their own industries eviscerated,  unable to complete with the low wages and CCP subsidies to make Chinese goods preferable to their own. Europe's vast trade deficit with China was exemplified by the president of the EU Chamber of Commerce in China commenting on the situation comparing it to a "400-metre-long giant container ship loaded with 24,000 containers going to Europe, and coming back almost empty".

Volkswagen's plans to rescue its Osnabruck plant along with 2,300 jobs y converting to production of components for Israel's Iron Dome defence system met a roadblock when Qatar objected, since the Qatari sovereign wealth fund purchased 10.4 percent of Volkswagen shares and 17 percent of its voting rights. Recep Tayyip Erdogan's Turkey is another potential trade partner for Canada under Mr. Carney's wide-ranging plans of rescue from the American trade orbit.

Turkey's Erdogan is committed to the reestablishment of a Global Caliphate. Achieved perhaps, in a trifle more sophisticated way -- without the beheadings and crucifixions seen exercised by the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq, but equally devoted to its inevitability, with the considerable assistance of the Muslim Brotherhood globally, and regionally the MB offshoot, Hamas in Gaza. Only two weeks earlier Mr. Carney announced Ottawa's negotiations with Ankara toward a free trade agreement.
"Last year, the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy [ISGAP] published an in-depth study of the reach of Qatar and the Muslim Brotherhood in Canada, recommending that Canada's intelligence agencies keep much closer tabs on Qatar's promotion of extremist ideology and support for extremist organizations in Canada:
"'It is imperative to assess their level of penetration, areas of influence, and long-term goals in order to effectively manage the risks posed to Canada' [ISGAP]."

Another opportunity for Canada's Liberal Carney government arose with discussions on a free trade agreement with the 11-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) bloc of which Myanmar is a member, albeit a police state. Myanmar is listed among three other countries -- Iran and North Korea -- on the Paris-based Financial Action Task Force. Details, inconvenient details, so inconsequential, no need to bother with them.

"So it's all well and good for Canada to be looking for deep-pocketed police state investors and maybe even some customers beyond the United States, at least for now."
"But the lasting damage to Canada's national security, diplomatic sovereignty, moral conscience, democratic alliances and international reputation might also be taken into account from time to time."

So Much for Canada to Admire in the Palestinian Authority

"Despite acute fiscal and operational constraints, the Palestinian Authority continues to advance elements of a reform agenda focused on social protection, education sector adjustments, and improvements to transparency and service delivery."
"The prime minister [Mark Carney] welcomed the measures taken by the Palestinian Authority including efforts to reform social welfare, developing new education materials, drafting an interim constitution, and its intent to hold general and presidential elections."
Jason Kung, Global Affairs Canada

"With effort and great, almost impossible difficulty, we continue to provide this 60 percent rate of [PA] public employee salaries."
"We have not abandoned any Palestinian resident, whether they are prisoners or families of martyrs and wounded."
"This is a clear fundamental issue."
PA Finance Minister Estephen Salameh
Hamas forces carried out a brutal campaign of abductions, torture and unlawful killings against Palestinians accused of “collaborating” with Israel and others during Israel’s military offensive against Gaza in July and August 2014, according to a new report by Amnesty International.

"Resistance [is a Palestinian right and weapons an inseparable part of that -- Hamas political bureau member Basem Naim --] resistance."
"Earlier the spokesman for Hamas' military wing claimed that the demand to disarm was 'a scandalous attempt by the occupation to achieve through negotiations what it could not achieve on the battlefield'."
Meir Ben Shabbat, former Israeli national security adviser

"These cases involved [Hamas] executions, kneecapping, bone-breaking with metal pipes or cement bricks and beatings and were framed by the perpetrators as punishments for alleged collaboration with Israel, looting humanitarian aid, theft, drug-related offences or affiliations with internal [Hamas] rivals."
United Nations report

Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip, March 20, 2026.

When Canada's prime minister Mark Carney, along with France, Spain and Ireland declared within the United Nations almost a year ago, their nations' formal recognition of a 'Palestinian' state, Mr. Carney accompanied his recognition with an urging caution to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas that the recognition would be  contingent on greater steps toward democracy; calling an election for one thing, since the last one took place in 2005 and Mr. Abbas's presidency has never since been challenged at the ballot box.

That recognition by Mr. Carney came in the wake of the October 7, 2023 attack by thousands of Palestinian terrorists and ordinary civilians led by the governing order of Gaza, Hamas, followed by Fatah (PA), Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. All of these groups terror proxies for the Islamic Republic of Iran. Since that time, following the Israeli invasion of Gaza to fumigate the territory of terrorists and the peace agreement that followed, Hamas has been busy regrouping, rearming, recruiting.

As for the Palestinian Authority which had solemnly pledged to put a halt to 'Pay for Slay' where Palestinians who committed themselves to 'resisting the occupation' by committing acts of martyrdom through the murder of Israelis were guaranteed handsome financial rewards, has instead initially sought to alter the payment protocol to make it more opaque. While in fact continuing the rewards given to terrorists. As for the education curricula in the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority and in the Gaza Strip under discredited UNRWA, it still reeks of the lionization of martyrdom.

A 2026 report from the U.S. Sate Department points out that despite the PA's Mahmoud Abbas promising the end of pay-for-slay, those dedicated payments continue, where the PA paid out $156 million the year before to Palestinian terrorists and their families. Generously funded by the international community for the welfare of the Palestinian population. In the report, the PA's finance minister was quoted having stated that the martyrs' fund remained operative. What was altered was "the mechanism" where funds were funnelled out.

In other words those former prisoners in Israeli jails who were released in exchange for freeing the 7 October hostages in the usual 100-to-one exchange were in line for massive payouts. As an example, two murderers and a bombmaker each accumulated PA payments of $354,000 since 2023, on top of which they receive a monthly additional $2,541, according to the State Department report.

The 'Teach Palestine' curriculum ... Political Indoctrination Disguised as Education  StandWithUs

As for the reformed educational textbooks which Abbas pledged "modernization of the education sector, including the development of a curriculum that is free from incitement according to the UNESCO standards" in a letter to French President Emmanuel Macron, on closer examination is far from having been undertaken. The Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (IMPACT-se), an NGO monitoring educational materials globally for hate and incitement to violence reported:
"The review finds that the 2025-2026 Palestinian Authority curriculum continues to systematically violate UNESCO principles and educational standards."
"Published in September 2025, the curriculum incites antisemitism and violence, promotes jihad and martyrdom, glorifies terrorism, rejects peacemaking and the two-state solution, and erases Israel from maps."
"It has not been substantively modified since the 2020-21 school year, maintaining the same ideological framework first established in the 2016 reform cycle."
As for Gaza demilitarization, part of the framework of the U.S.-backed Gaza ceasefire, Hamas has responded time and again by stating it has no intention of surrendering its weapons, and the reality is, it is busily rearming. According to Nathan Brown, professor of political science and international affairs at George Washington University, Hamas not only refuses to disarm, the ceasefire has emboldened it.
"It now appears more able to operate above ground than it did before the plan", he wrote for the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace think tank, in an analysis.

A United Nations report documented executions by Hamas in Gaza, as well as mass killings and severe beating punishments. As for organizing presidential and general elections, the world is still waiting for the 2005 election to be repeated.

Canada/China Agreement :The Winning Score Zip for Canada

"It is very, very upsetting to me and to our organization."
"This is all about expanding the Communist party's influence and expanding their capabilities in Canada, in all those agreements, for transnational repression, political interference and disinformation."
Edmund Leung, chair, Vancouver Society in Support of Democratic Movement

"The two sides consented to provide mutual support and convenience for media to work in each other's countries, and provide greater convenience for two-way travel."
Shen Haixiong, director/editor-in-chief China Media Group

"Censorship [including self-censorship] is pervasive and alternative media voices are few or marginalized ... this includes traditional media such as newspapers, and in new media provided by online platforms and applications such as WeChat."
Canadian Security Intelligence Service assessment

"That was my major concern of the whole trip, this deal between the RCMP and China's public security."
"All we can do is push for clarity, push for transparency and push for safeguards."
"We're not in a position to change what has been agreed on between China and Canada."
"All we can do is push for our own red lines and guardrails."
Edmund Leung, Vancouver Society in Defence of Democratic Movement
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's 'strategic partnership' agreement he entered into with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing includes a number of provisions that transcend the expansion of Chinese electric car imports at a preferential tariff rate in exchange for eased tariff barriers on Canadian canola, in Canada's 'reset' with China. According to Cheuk Kwan, co-chair of the Toronto Association for Democracy, speaking for the Canadian Coalition on Human Rights in China, "These are all Trojan horses."

Suddenly gone, the awareness and caution occasioned by Beijing's political interference in the 2019 and 2021 federal elections. At face value, the proposed collaboration reflect "people-to-people ties and cultural exchanges", investment in museums, support for "digital content creators" and "visual artists", heritage, education, "travel exchanges and cultural ties", not to mention cooperation in the "creative industries" at the "sub-national level". In other words the very soft-power that Beijing already utilizes to extend its global reach. Now legitimized rather than remaining furtive.

As for Beijing's cooperation in a mission to "combat corruption", cyber fraud and traffic in illegal synthetic drugs, the absurdity of the proposal lies in the obvious reality of China being the very icon of corruption, cyber fraud and illegal synthetic drug traffic. Fentanyl has made its mark throughout Canada for years, in deaths by overdose and the increase of opioid addiction with this most dangerous of chemical compounds.

As for the memorandum of understanding between the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and China's Ministry of Public Security (dreaded by the Chinese citizenry), a series of scandals involving tortured witnesses and trumped-up corruption charges served to sever a similar, previous such collaboration of 25 years back. That, apart from the fact that a number of Public Security divisions from China were operating clandestine police stations in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver to harass and threaten Chinese Canadians.

Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree commented he was unable to provide any assurance that the pact would interfere with Beijing's persistent deployment of agents in Canada who spy on, intimidate, coerce individuals and organizations within diaspora communities in Canada, to target Chinese-Canadians.

In another area of troubling potential, Carney's agreement with Beijing would formalize Canadian operations of divisions of the Central Propaganda Department of the Chinese communist Party's central committee. These are arrangements with the full potential to enhance opportunities for a Propaganda Department deputy minister among others to expand control over media manipulation in Canada, as per the MOU signed by Canadian ambassador to China Jennifer May.

There are no independent journalists in the powerful China Media Group, they are, rather, professionally skilled propagandists working for the state. Reporters Without Borders cites China as the primary jailer of journalists among member states of the UN. In the past several decades Beijing's Canadian proxies have directed Chinese-language media in Canada or bully them into submission.
"If the Chinese police have the ability to request information from Canada in their ongoing investigations, it's very bad news."
"If we feel compelled to share information -- names and addresses or whatever -- we would simply be enabling China's transnational repression."
Charles Burton, former diplomat, China expert

"Prime Minister Carney can be pleased with the results of his first official visit to China. Through a temporary trade truce, and a list of political, economic and cultural MOUs, the federal government has effectively reset relations with China to where they were in 2016, before the arrest of Meng Wanzhou at the request of the first Trump administration."
"The headline announcement is a reduction of Chinese tariffs on Canadian canola seed (from 85 to about 15 per cent) in exchange for a limited number of electric vehicle imports to Canada (49,000) per year at a 6.1 per cent tariff (Canada’s most-favoured nation rate). This outcome, and a one-year tariff reprieve on Canadian lobster and canola meal, will ease some farmer concerns in Western Canada."
"Autoworkers, on the other hand, are expressing serious concerns about opening the door to Chinese EVs given the impact this has had on auto-producing European countries. “Lifting the surtax risks turning Canada into a dumping ground for China-owned companies at the expense of our domestic auto industry and the Canadian workers who rely on it,” said Unifor, the union which represents most Canadian auto workers, in a statement today."
"The EV tariffs were imposed in 2024 to harmonize with the Biden administration’s cold war–like position with respect to China’s industrial dominance in automotive, renewables and, increasingly, high tech production. The tariffs and Biden-era subsidies, including EV consumer rebates, prompted an inflow of investment into electric battery and vehicle manufacturing in North America. Many of these auto sector plans were reversed when Trump dismantled Biden’s attempt at a green industrial strategy."
"Removing the Canadian EV tariffs looks reasonable from the perspective of improving China relations, but it is a highly risky move absent a more elaborated industrial strategy for the automotive and other struggling manufacturing sectors."
"An official statement from the PMO says that Chinese investment in Canadian EV supply chains and renewable energy is part of the arrangement. But as Unifor points out, this investment is not guaranteed. The anticipated five-year timeframe for the importation of affordable (under $35,000) EVs from China, within the annual vehicle limits, coincides with the introduction of similar and similarly priced models by North American producers including Ford and General Motors but may still undermine the market share (and therefore jobs) of union-made vehicles."

For Shame, Canada

"[The actions of the Netanyahu government] were explicitly designed to end any possibility of a state of Palestine, in violation of the UN charter and going against Canadian government policy of whatever political stripe since 1947."
"[The conferred recognition does not compromise Canada's support] for the State of Israel, its people, and their security -- [which can only] be guaranteed through the achievement of a comprehensive two-state solution."
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney

"We've let terrorist organizations turn our country into an ATM, but the leader of the only Jewish state in the world isn't welcome here."
"Make it make sense."
Casey Babb, senior fellow, Macdonald-Laurier Institute

"What?"
"Hamas thanked Carney when he derailed a peace proposal on the eve of a trade deal deadline with the U.S.A."
"Now Hamas is publicly executing competing Palestinian factions. But [Mark Carney] tells Bloomberg he would arrest PM Netanyahu?"
"Astonishing!"
Conservative Member of Parliament Roman Baber

In November of 2024 at the instigation of South Africa -- no friend of Israel -- the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Israel's prime minister, alleging that he was "responsible for the war crimes of starvation as a method of warfare and of intentionally directing an attack against the civilian population" of Gaza, initiated on October 8, 2023.

Of course, to place matters in their proper perspective, the day prior to the Israel Defense Forces entering Gaza for the direct purpose of confronting and destroying the Palestinian terrorist group, Hamas had directed four thousand of its operatives, along with those of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Fatah (PA) followed by several thousand Palestinian civilians to embark on a surprise assault on Israeli border communities in a paroxysm of unspeakable savagery, raping, mutilating, murdering and taking hundreds of hostages back into Gaza.

For its part, Hamas was prepared to sacrifice the lives of as many Palestinians as it would take to arouse the condemnation of the West to fever pitch while orchestrating those Palestinian deaths by placing themselves directly within the crowded precincts of Gaza's civilian population, including sending rockets off into Israel using launchers placed near mosques, schools and public housing, to draw Israeli fire to areas that would result in the greatest possible civilian deaths.

Numbers used by Hamas as publicity to feature Palestinians as victims of Israeli aggression to achieve 'genocide' against Palestinians, in the process inflating the numbers of those injured and dealt death as collateral damage in the Israeli response to the invasion of Israel by Palestinian terrorists resulting in 1,200 deaths and 250 captive Israelis, dead and alive spirited into Gaza as hostages. Hamas public affairs portrayed a huge death toll of Palestinian civilians peculiarly comprised mostly of women and children, numbers unquestioningly repeated by the Western press.

Lending fodder to the thousands of Palestinian supporters and Islamist Muslims living in the West who embarked on astonishingly well-organized protests against Israeli aggression, calling for a Palestinian state 'from the river to the sea', and a global intifada uprising against Jews, along with a 'Final Solution'. The atrocities committed by Palestinian terrorists for the past 80 years, their constant violent agitation and lethal attacks against Israel and its civilian population have been well documented, leaving Israel little choice but to be on constant alert against further attacks. No other country in the world has laboured to uphold its right to existence as has Israel.

Yet countries like the United Kingdom, Spain, Australia, France and Canada among others condemn Israel for a 'disproportionate' response to bloody terror, and in this latest mass atrocity have seen fit during the two-year conflict between Israel and Hamas, Hezbollah, Yemen's Houthis and Iran, to demand that Israel withdraw from Gaza without accomplishing its existential goals of finally defeating the hate/and/death cult that has ravaged Israel for much too long.

Asked in an interview with British journalist Mishal Husain on Friday in a 37-minute episode whether Canada's Carney would arrest Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on the ICC warrant, should he ever appear in Canada, Carney responded in the affirmative. This, following an earlier statement that Canada committed to recognizing a Palestinian state, eliciting at the time a note of appreciation to Canada from Hamas. The end goal, stated Carney "is a free and viable Palestinian state living side by side, peace and security, with the state of Israel".

Canada would will that to be. Despite that the Palestinian leadership and the Palestinian population envision a one-state 'solution' to the presence of Israel on its own ancestral land, which the Arab Palestinians claim as solely their inheritance. Time and again, from 1947 when the first UN plan for Partition was refused by the Palestinians and grasped with gratitude by Israel, the Palestinian rejected all overtures for conciliation and the solution of two states side by side.

"You're going to have to keep up the pressure on the Israeli government to achieve a Palestinian state living side by side with a secure Israel", responded Husain. "Justin Trudeau (Carney's predecessor) said that Canada would honour the International Criminal Court arrest warrants i.e., Benjamin Netanyahu would be arrested if he came to Canada. Does that stand under your leadership", asked Husain.

"Yes", said Carney. "You'd be prepared to do that?" Husain probed.
"Yes", said the Canadian prime minister.
