The Benefits of Immigration

"Drugs are prolific. They're as prolific as ordering a pizza. You can get them on Snapchat, WhatsApp."
"That, in the end, is driving the turf war; and it's driving the culture of violence."
"What drives the gangs and the turf wars is an $23-billion cocaine drugs market."

David Lammy, north London Tottenham district politician

"It is difficult to address the causes of violence without addressing important social questions about the choices facing young people in terms of opportunities."
"If a sufficient number of people feel frightened, they can look on knife-carrying as a way to make themselves feel safe, but it actually makes them less safe."
Roger Grimshaw, research director, Centre for Crime and Justice Studies, London

"You will see us being even more proactive. We will have a greater presence in the hot spots of violence and a focused effort, including intelligence-led stop-and-search and the use of specialists in covert tactics."
"[We plan to focus a new task force of police to focus on] violent crime, weapon-enabled crime and serious criminality."
Commissioner Cressida Dick, Metropolitan Police

"Since 2014, we have seen an increase in violent crime in London and across the country."
"Since I first became mayor, I have been saying to the government that it's not sustainable to make the level of cuts they have been making to London."
Sadiq Khan, London Mayor
"They [Metropolitan Police] are taking this very seriously, but it's much more complicated than just arresting people."
"We need to get to the root cause of why so many young men use knives to settle their differences and why they are willing to inflict serious damage on people."
"Once we understand this we need to make sure these people are taken off the street and put away for a long time."
Steve O'Connell, chairpersom, London Assembly's Police and Crime Committee
London now has worse crime than New York, according to statistics
Murders are soaring in London now has worse crime than New York, according to statistics  The Telegraph

The incidents of knife-attacks and murders are soaring in London. What's happened to London? At one time crime was at such a low ebb traditionally police never had to carry lethal weapons, a night-stick did very well to quell the criminal impulses then prevailing. Unspoken but a significant part of the problem is unchecked immigration. This is not a phenomenon singular only to Britain by any means, it is found everywhere that Western countries have opened their doors to immigration welcoming people whose cultures and traditions continue to influence them long after they become citizens and produce followup generations.

Teenagers in Britain and young adults are being murdered at an astonishing rate where London averages over three killings a week so far in 2018. Over fifty people have died violently since the start of 2018 in London alone, a considerable rise from the year before. Studying the problem criminologists express caution in drawing conclusions even while London sees violence on the increase. Last year there were 200 homicides among the 8.5 million residents of London. New York had 292 murders; for New York a record low.

According to analysts the violent crime surge is driven by drug gang rivalries, cuts to youth services and social programs, and the attitudes of teens on social media where they provoke and taunt one another. Politician David Lammy feels that the marketing of drugs is controlled by Eastern European gangs who use children and teens as mules carrying drugs about, their presence making them potential casualties in drug wars. It is mostly young people carrying knives that have caused the spate of stabbings.

Most victims were in their teens and 20s, many of Black origin, or from 'ethnic' minorities, which is to say Muslims of various ethnicities. A listing of their names tells the story. The Metropolitan Police are launching a new task force comprised of especially selected, dedicated police officers. Three hundred additional officers are set to be deployed daily on London streets. The Muslim community has its own solution, based on their recommendation to spend more on blighted communities racked with poverty which belch forth young people eager to involve themselves in gangs and drugs.
"There is a strong correlation between areas of high social deprivation and crime rates, and government cuts are not only affecting local police efforts but impacting those suffering the most. MAB urges the government to look to areas of deprivation suffering an array of social problems and look for solutions that will tackle problems at their root."
Mustafa Al-Dabbagh, spokesman, Muslim Association of Britain
They also feel that improved crime prevention could be achieved by putting a halt to -stop-and-search policies. They are echoed by Sadiq Khan's rejection of police racial profiling. What is required, they feel, is to solve issues relating to social deprivation. Drug and alcohol abuse, they claim, need only be addressed by education from an early age forward. As a community they are willing, they stress, to do their part in a national debate.

Close to 70,000 burglaries took place in Greater London last year, over 43,000 in private homes.

It will not be of much comfort to the residents of London, fearful of rising crime and the growing incidence of deaths targeting the young, but in Canada, in Toronto and Ottawa, the problems faced by London are mirrored there as well, with a preponderance of Middle Eastern and Black youth forming gangs with rival confrontations culminating in shooting deaths rather than knifings. Police there form task groups "guns and gangs" corps to counter the growing violence as well.
