The Nobility of Sanctimonious Anti-Semitism

"Every man was created in the image of God. That is the idea brought by our nation to mankind thousands of years ago, and it is the principle that must guide our national lives today."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

"Allah the almighty has called upon us not to ally with the Jews or the Christians, not to like them, not to become their partners, not to support them, and not to sign agreements with them. And he who does that is one of them, as Allah said: 'O you who believe, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies, for they are allies of one another. Who from among you takes them as allies will indeed be one of them'. Have no mercy on the Jews, no matter where they are, in any country. Fight them, wherever you are. Wherever you meet them, kill them."
Dr. Ahmad Abu Halabiya, Palestinian Authority Fatwa Council

"[Hamas and Islamic Jihad] who see their struggle against Israel as part of their religious responsibility cannot recognize Israel's right to exist, or reach any kind of negotiated settlement with "the Zionist entity", without denying what it has identified as "part of its faith". After all, the Prophet Muhammad himself warned Muslims that "the last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him."
Robert Spencer, Onward Muslim Soldiers
BDS supporters insist that their opposition to Israel's policies regarding the Palestinians does not reflect anti-Semitism. How could it, they say, when in Israel itself both Jews and Arabs are free to criticize the government themselves? But of course this is a reflection of a free and open democratic society, one where Jews, Arabs, Christians, Druze and all who live within the country and enjoy citizenship rights are free to criticize.

Their pluralistic reflection denotes a free society.

This is not, as BDS supporters claim triumphantly, an apartheid country. Nor would it remain the free and open society that it is if the BDS-supporters had their way, since the movement they espouse will only be satisfied were their demands of Palestinian return be honoured, a 'return' of overwhelming millions as descendants of the original 800,000 who fled when Israel declared itself under the UN's Partition plan for Palestine. That return is a deliberate policy for Israel's destruction as a Jewish state.

When Israel gratefully accepted a minuscule portion of the land originally proposed for their homeland state -- with Jordan having illegally scooped the majority of the designated land, and with it, the Palestinians living upon it, now comprising the majority of the Jordanian population -- the Palestinians refused the partition offer. Israel's purpose is to remain a Jewish state, and within that Jewish state, it accepts the presence of non-Jews as equal citizens.

A country where minority ethnic, religious and gender differences are recognized and respected. Unique, in fact, as a land of opportunity and equality in the Middle East. The Arab countries of the Middle East ejected their Jews with the creation of the State of Israel in a number equal to displaced Palestinians.

The BDS movement is a radical one, where it has become legitimate to convey sheltered expressions of anti-Semitism through the left-approved lens of righteous rage against Palestinian suffering. Where unions, and academics feel entitled and justified in the name of the underdog to describe Israel as an oppressive racist entity because it fits well with the logic of their hatred.

The Palestinian BDS National Committee succeeded in enlisting the passionate aid of the international community in slandering, isolating and pressuring Israel through condemnation of its unwillingness to accede to Palestinian demands at the cost of its own existence. With the demanded return of parts of the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, Israel would be placed in an even more embattled position threatened by Hamas and Hezbollah, both armed and funded by Iran.

An Islamist terrorism-supporting country now free with its fresh cash inflow with the lifting of international sanctions, to offer financial support to families of 'martyrs' who commit violence against Israeli Jewish citizens.

In opposing Israel and slurring it as a violator of the rights of Palestinians whose leadership has managed to quash one peace offer leading to Palestinian statehood alongside Israel after another throughout the long years of the Israel-Palestine conflict, the BDS contingent of sanctimonious Jew-haters align themselves neatly with Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah.

All of whom salivate at the very thought of Israel somehow disappearing from the face of the Earth. And with it, technological and scientific advances in medicine and computerized technologies, agriculture and desalinization, all of which have helped to make the world a more humane place for everyone.
