It's Part of Islam

"I said I'm here for a reason [ to send money home to help the people of Pakistan]."
"I was talking about my aversion to Canadian or American exceptionalism [explaining his hatred for Canadians]."
"This is a severe false claim I never said I was ever sent here on any military mission. This is a lie."
"I wanted to start a career, start my life in Canada because I was informed Canada was a country where you had freedom to express your views. I never had any ill intentions of breaking the law."
Mohammed Aqeeq Ansari, 30, citizen of Pakistan, resident in Canada

"There is credible evidence originating from Mr. Ansari’s electronic media and communications on various Internet sites which supports the finding that he has actively supported the SSP [Sipah-
E-Sahaba], that he communicates with the leadership, acts as an approved spokesperson, [and] encourages others to financially support the group."

"Unfortunately at this point the [IRB] panel is not satisfied that the release plan [request from his parents to post a bond and have their son live with them under house arrest] sufficiently overcomes the concerns raised by the evidence."
Immigration and Refugee Board member Andrew Laut

Arrested in a security crackdown on perceived extremists in Canada, after the October 2015 deadly attacks on Canadian servicemen, no criminal charges have been laid against this man who had posted a photograph of a bank tower, writing under it: "If I only had a plane". Police had found a recording made at a Toronto mosque where he boastfully claimed to have been sent to Canada on a "military mission", a statement he now vociferously denies.

The IRB has yet to decide whether to deport Mr. Ansari back to Pakistan, as a security threat to Canada. Federal authorities do want him deported, claiming he is involved in fundraising and the operation of websites linked to a Pakistani terrorist group, which he denies. While agreeing that he had helped a religious group headed by a cleric whose resume includes that he "participated in jihad in the battlefields" of Afghanistan, and was on five occasions imprisoned in Pakistan.

When Mohammed Ansari was queried whether he believed that punishment by death should result from insulting Islam, his response was: "Of course, it's part of Islam." Such punishment, he clarified, only to be administered by the state of an Islamic country. He stated as well: "people view every practising Muslim as a terrorist", and it's little wonder, given his ideological orientation, statements and possessions. As for example when he posted on Facebook: "We are the Muslims [we] are coming for you."

He had immigrated to Canada in 2007, to enjoy what the country had to offer, including free speech, he said. Five years later he was arrested while living as an unemployed individual at his brother's house in Peterborough, where he had stored a weapons collection in his brother's basement. He had acquired $20,000 worth of firearms, and 2,000 rounds of ammunition while jobless, living in his brother's basement. When police searched the home they discovered extremist materials.

Just a nice young man enjoying life in Canada and the freedom of expression he so much values.
