one count of reckless discharge of a firearm and 24 counts of aggravated
assault.
Shaquan Mesquito, 18, who was previously arrested for threatening to cause serious bodily harm at the July block party, had his charges upgraded in court Wednesday.
In addition to two counts of first-degree murder, Mr. Mesquito now faces one count of attempted murder, one count of reckless discharge of a firearm and 24 counts of aggravated assault, Staff Insp. Greg McLane told reporters at a packed news conference Thursday.
“I’m confident that there will be further charges [in the case],” Staff Insp. McLane added.
Police, who also released two composite sketches of men who might have had played a role in the shootout, have linked the incident to the east-end Galloway Boys street gang.
