Preteen Predator
"This is a particularly disturbing case of a father of five girls who travelled to Georgia from Canada intending to sexually exploit an 11-year-old girl. When he arrived in our community, instead of meeting an 11-year-old girl, he was greeted by law enforcement officers. This prison sentence ensures that he will now be kept away from any other potential victims for many years to come." U.S. attorney Sally Quillian Yates, F.B.I.A 54 year-old Ontario man, the father of five girls, who had aspirations to seduce and violate a child. He will now have more than ample leisure in incarceration to contemplate the disgusting plan he attempted to carry forward. He was found guilty of attempting to entice a child to engage in sexual activity. He was found to be in possession of child pornography, during a jury trial, after his 2007 arrest.
He was sentenced to 30 years in the U.S. prison system. And after discharge he will be placed under 10 years of supervisory release. Upon release he will be registered as a sexual predator. The man, Brian Schumaker of Mississauga, spent a month online striving to contact a child under the age of 12. And his intention was clearly for sexual purposes.
While he believed he was conducting chatting exercises on line with a 11-year-old girl and her mother, it was undercover police officers from a regional Georgia police force with whom he was conversing. He was set up to entice him to travel from Mississauga to Atlanta, to meet up with the child. And his sentence is well deserved.
He is now in his mid-50s; when released he will be in his 80s, and he will be under surveillance for another ten years. Should he live that long.
Has there been any attempt to ascertain whether this father of five girls ever abused his own children?
