Violations of Human Dignity
"Central to our assessment is the ethnically and ancestrally defined concept of the people that shapes the AfD, which devalues entire segments of the population in Germany and violates their human dignity.""This concept is reflected in the party’s overall anti-migrant and anti-Muslim stance. [The AfD is stirring up ] irrational fears and hostility [towards individuals and groups].""[The party] aims to exclude certain population groups from equal participation in society.""[AfD also does not consider German nationals with a history of migration from Muslim countries as equal to German people]."Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz

The Alternative for Germany party that came second in national elections held in February has been classified by the German domestic intelligence service as a "right-wing extremist" organization -- subject as a result to greater and broader surveillance of its activities. The intelligence service, as a result, can make use of informants and other investigative tools like audio and video records in monitoring AfD activities throughout the country.
Giving the party so distinguished an opportunity to call out the persecution it is being subjected to in Germany.

The original platform of the AfD, formed in 2013, centered on opposition to bailouts for struggling Eurozone members. It began its turn rightward in opposition to then-Chancellor Angela Merkel's decision to open Germany's borders to large numbers of refugees streaming into Germany in 2015, which established the party as a considerable political force, since it reflected the majority of the German public's dismay at the wholesale surge of a million-strong mostly Middle Eastern migrants into the country.

"Germany just gave its spy agency new powers to surveil the opposition. That's not democracy — it's tyranny in disguise.""What is truly extremist is not the popular AfD — which took second in the recent election — but rather the establishment's deadly open border immigration policies that the AfD opposes."U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio
