Civil Equilibrium Dominated by Antisemitism

Organizers of anti-Jewish demonstrations wrack their imaginations to arrive at fresh, new approaches in their mission to demoralize, frighten, threaten and destabilize the Jewish community in Canada, as they do elsewhere with their genius for striking the tinder of sleeping antisemitism within most societies, giving them a 'reason' for fresh engagement with their Jew-hate with ample support and amplification of Jews as alien threats to society, responsible for social upheavals and conflict.

Masked anti-Israel demonstrators chanted "Allahu akbar! Allahu akbar!", hiking through wooded areas adjacent to Toronto's Prosserman Jewish Community Centre. There it was that -- following the participation success of Sunday's 'Walk with Israel' that saw 50,000 Jews and their Christian, Iranian, Indigenous Peoples colleagues marching in solidarity with Israel and in rejection of the plight of Canada's Jewish population under the duress of rampant antisemitism -- a family-day event was taking place.

The protesters were avid in their determination to disrupt the family day event where inflatables for children and food set out to celebrate the march's success was meant to be disrupted by hate-mongers for whom nothing is sacred. Carrying massive Palestine flags, faces masked, anti-Israel, pro-Hamas Jew-haters were out, in a North York Jewish neighbourhood manoeuvering toward the ravine, intimidating local residents as they progressed toward their target.

Videos of the unfolding event at Sheppard and Bathurst streets aired on the social media platform X on Monday. In it, one demonstrator is captured tearing down an Israeli hostage poster. Another, wearing a jacket emblazoned with a sniper scope and "Shoot Zionist" on his back, left no one guessing over his critically immoral sentiments.

Graphics of an inverted red triangle -- a symbol linked to Hamas highlighting targeting of Israeli forces in propaganda videos popular with Hamas supporters, was shown next to local law enforcement stationed to protect the Jewish community -- shared by a member of Toronto4Palestine, a group participating in the encampment at the University of Toronto. Also filmed, a protester defacing a local billboard with a red triangle, while another protester stamps his boots on a flag of Israel.

This stalking of Jews, the issuance of threats, the jibes and assaults on normal life for Jews in Canada has become standard issue for the antisemitism that permeate society. Had government and their policing agencies made a move to restore order and make it clear that this type of action  would not be tolerated in Canada, such hostile displays of antisemitism would never have advanced to this intolerable stage. 

 

However, Canadian authorities and politicians at every level of government look away, tch-tch, and do nothing whatever to restore civil equilibrium.
