Heaven forfend that any democratic government state the unpalatable reality that by freely admitting immigrants from countries known to oppress their people, from countries at war within themselves, and in conflict with neighbours, afflicted by a mass dysfunctionality encouraged and incited by a religion that bases its fundamentals on the repression of other religions, by the violent overthrow of governments based on democratic principles, by the call of the faithful to violent jihad, it has managed to enfeeble the security and safety of its own indigenous citizens, the culture and values they hold dear.

Just as Europe has discovered to its dismay, the reasons for which it is not yet prepared to admit, that in welcoming immigrants and refugees infused with a surrender to Islam and the knowledge that it is their duty to the faith to encroach upon the religions and rights of others in the sacred work entrusted to them to enlarge the following of Islam worldwide, so too now are North American countries becoming more aware of the danger they too have inherited.

To be faithful to the fundamental precepts of Islam is to be a danger to any country to which Muslims migrate. The existing laws of the land are not held to be respected over Sharia law; the culture and the values of the accepting countries are there to be ignored, with the values and culture immigrants bring with them paramount. The receiving countries speak glowingly of 'cultural enrichment', until belligerent claims of entitlement begin to dilute the indigenous culture and system of values and laws.

Thousands of Muslim men and small numbers of Muslim women have embarked on an exciting adventure; to use violent means to convert Muslims whose level of religious adherence is seen as inadequate, to their more urgent view of Islam. Christians living in the lands that gave it birth, and which much pre-dated Islam are humiliated, hounded, targeted for beatings, their churches fire-bombed, their clergy murdered. Jews and Infidels are equated with the ills of the world community.

The United Kingdom and other European communities are grappling feverishly with the ongoing threats of terrorist attacks by Islamists who view the ultimate sacrifice of martyrdom to be their shining star, ushering them into Paradise. Martyrdom is accomplished by slaughter of as many non-Muslims as can be accommodated to the vision of a future caliphate embracing the entire world community into the one true faith.

'Moderate' Muslims deplore the actions of the extremists, but in the same vein, it is none of their affair, they have done nothing amiss, and it is a relative handful of psychopaths who just happen to be Muslim that are running amok in the world theatre. Which sounds on the surface, comforting, but when polls are taken and ordinary Muslims are asked their approval rating of violent jihad, it is distressingly high, somewhat disproving the notion of moderation.

In Canada, over a dozen government security groups and agencies have involved themselves in Canada's response to the threat of violent Islamist jihad. The RCMP has developed an intervention program they call "targeted intervention" aiming at 'youths' who are drawn to the exciting prospect of adventure and action in violent extremism. Their version of the allure of 'extreme sports'. The intervention is meant to mobilize community resources to the greater goal of preventing extremism among members of their own community.

Where, under this strategy, "candidates for intervention are paired with community-based mentors and other resources for advice, support and counselling aimed at limiting the impact of violent extremist ideology", as the report states hopefully. Frontline officers with the RCMP have received training to enable identification of violent extremism; along with a team set up to track extremists before and after travel overseas.

In a "continuum of actions" to be used to disrupt plans and deal with extremists on their anticipated return to Canada.

As a sampling of what can be done from within the community it is somewhat instructive to look into the case of Ahmad Waseem who returned to Windsor, Ontario after being wounded in Syria in during combat. His concerned mother hid his passport, his mosque counselled him, and police spoke with him. His response was to return to Syria where he now calls ISIS his "brothers".
