Sinister and Warped

How utterly poetically imaginative. Clearly a propaganda genius has been hard at work here. The poster says it all: on the 24th anniversary of the death of Imam Khomeini, the Islamic Society of York Region, Richmond Hill, will be holding a rally titled Justice for the Oppressed in honour of Imam Khomeini's struggle for justice. Featuring internationally renowned speakers. There will be a youth quiz competition, a poetry, art and essay competition. Clean-living and heavy on culture.

Oh, and because people were just so excited about the event, and so many were eager to attend, the original venue had been changed to a larger location, able to accommodate all who wished tp attend, starry-eyed with fervent admiration for all that the late Ayatollah accomplished. His revolutionary change in Iran to a terrorist-supporting, population oppressing, diversity suppressing, Islamist theocracy was a monumental accomplishment.

His aspirations to recreate Iran with its proud Persian past where poetry, architecture, art, music and literature truly did represent a culture of great heritage into one that would spurn the disease of Western culture with its debased values, enabling him and his entourage of Ayatollahs to hold dominion over the Middle East certainly made him an outstanding champion of justice for the oppressed, no question.

The heralded event drew together passionate supporters of the late Ayatollah who have witnessed at a remove and with great satisfaction the wholesale strides their country of origin has made in accessing through its scientific prowess and friends and enablers' technical skills the Islamic Republic of Iran's very own nuclear program, the better to produce nuclear warheads with. Iran's intentions, like that of its great good friend North Korea, have the support of Russia and China, but dreadfully concern the rest of the world.

While Iran busies itself recommending justice for the oppressed the world over, insisting it is engaged in peace, and courts atomic power only as a balance to the malign intentions of nuclear superpower the Great Satan and its satellite the Zionist entity which it plans to destroy, relieving the world of a nuisance presence, there is no justice for Iranians living under the oppressive regime that Imam Khomeini's legacy spawned.

This, in the words of Canada's other Iranian-heritaged population, who fled Iran when Khoimeini blessed their country with his return from exile in Paris, is rather a puzzle to the uninitiated. Why would Iranians steeped in the radical type of Islam that the Iranian regime exemplifies wish to live in Canada to begin with?

For its freedoms, and its social benefits, one could venture with some degree of assurance. Still, why, when their beloved Iran under the fanatical clerical Republic offers all of that, and more? An advance guard? Do they feel so very welcome in Canada in view of the attitude of the Conservative-led Government of Canada which reacts to Iran as one would to the putrid odour of a decaying corpse?

The expatriat Iranian-Canadians who detest the Republic and its Ayatollahs call upon the "Conservative Government of Canada to make such events illegal", but of course in Canada there is the assurance under the law of free speech, free association, that kind of trifling thing, that is forbidden in Iran.
