Iranian Malevolence

"Most of these migrants cite persecution based on religion, political opinion and sexual orientation. Information provided by the migrants on their smugglers suggests possible links to organized criminal elements both within and outside of Canada.
"While Iranian irregular migrants mainly enter Canada to make refugee claims, it is possible that certain individuals may enter with more sinister motives.
"Iran is the number-one source country of improperly documented migrants who make refugee claims in Canada."
Canada Border Services Agency intelligence report
Iran, as it happens, is not one of Canada's favoured partners in peace and prosperity. There is no love lost between both countries. Iran, since the advent of the Islamic Revolution that turned it from a monarchy under a Shah whose reputation was both positive and negative, but favoured by the west, while the country was agitated from within by unrest and discontent, has turned from a benign dictatorship to a malignant theocratic tyranny where human rights abuse is regular and unstinting.

It is not a welcome source of migrants to Canada. During the revolution that brought fundamental Shiite Islamism to the country, Canada benefited from the emigration of secular, educated and enterprising Iranians who had determined that the revolution was inimical to their futures. Many Iranians who worshipped not Islam but B'hai and were oppressed in the country also chose to make their futures in Canada. Before the Iranian Embassy in Ottawa was pronounced persona non grata, Iranian diplomats extended their mission to prey on Iranians toward Iranian-Canadians.

Now an issue of fake documents being presented thanks to the presence of "facilitators" to aid in entering Canada has become an outstanding problem. A Canada Border Services Agency report titled Irregular Migration of Iranians to Canada has highlighted the increasing problem of Iranian nations found inadmissible on security grounds, most of them representing refugee claimants without proper documentation, some of whom may be people with "sinister motives".

The report set out notice that 19 Iranians were denied haven in the country, deemed inadmissible under a provision of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act relating to terrorism, subversion and espionage.  A timely nudge for Canada's security and intelligence groups with the revelation that two recently apprehended jihadists, extremist Islamists who had plotted to conduct a terrorist operation that would impact VIA rail passenger service from New  York to Toronto, being given direction by al-Qaeda operatives in Iran has raised alarm.

Raced Jaser of Toronto and Chiheb Esseghaier of Montreal, neither of whom have citizenship but both having achieved legal resident status, the latter through an academic study program, have provoked through the revelation of their sinister plans, much controversy. Particularly since the 35-year-old Jaser has been in Canada for decades with his family and is here despite criminal offences committed in Canada, yet has not been deported because he is deemed to be without official status as a citizen in any other country.
