Iranian Culture, Art and Civilization

By stealth preferably, but through violence if necessary.  And both are usefully, cleverly employed by a country like the Islamic Republic of Iran.  Which, under its current leadership of Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is once again determined to be recognized as the most Islamic country in the Middle East, the leader among nations devoted to Islamic precepts and its utterly encompassing way of life.

As a sovereign country they may do as they wish internally.  As a country with aspirations to widen their scope of influence well outside the Middle East Iran, more than other majority Muslim countries subscribes to the "Islamic world republic" and its two houses: Dar al-Islam (House of Islam), and Dar al Harb (House of War).  Countries controlled by Islam are part of the "House of Islam"; all others reside in the "House of War".

Non-Muslim countries - because they are recognized by Islamists, fanatical, fundamentalist Muslims devoted to the original precepts handed down to them by their Prophet of the compelling need to engage in jihad, which Muhammed more than amply demonstrated during his lifetime through his many bloody conquests in the name of Islam - are by the very demands of tradition, subject to jihad, holy war.

That holy war ceases once they submit to Islam, and by so doing, become integrated into the "House of Islam".  Islamic jihad recognizes no peace between Muslim and non-Muslim nations, nor any lasting treaties.  Jihad is a devoted cause to remove any resistance to the spread of Islam.  The very word means "to struggle in the cause of Allah, with pen, speech or sword: jihad.

"The views expressed by speakers at this event in no way reflect the views of the university as a whole.  There are more than 160 student groups and societies registered at Carleton.  And Carleton, like all other Canadian universities, encourages a culture of debate and free expression", read a university statement released to the media after a report by Macleans magazine.

That report, on a two-hour conference very well attended at Carleton University, organized by the Iranian Culture Association of Carleton University and the Cultural Centre of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was held to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the death of the first Grand Ayatollah Khomeini, whose return from exile in France when the Shah of Iran was deposed, created the Iranian Revolution.

Rest assured, stated Steven Reid, speaking on behalf of the university.  The administration would intervene if, heaven forbid, an event took place on campus that promoted hate, illegal acts of violations of the Human Rights Code.  "Beyond that, we don't step in and quash things."  Of course not, it's not the democratic way.  And that is most helpful to the plans of fundamentalist Islamists.

Like Sayyid Muhammad Rizvi, a Toronto imam with ties to an Islamic school in Toronto currently under police investigation for its rather adverse slander of Judaism and Jews.   Like Kurt Richardson, theology professor at Trinity College, University of Toronto who claims "It's better to be involved in the process than to stand at a distance", and who declared that Khomeini "was the one who emphasized the equality of human beings...".

And another main speaker, U.S. 'activist' Phil Wilayto who organized a 'citizen's peace delegation' to Iran, the country that famously held a controversially-well-attended conference on the Holocaust, to prove that it never happened, and that Jews were in the business of manipulating world opinion to their benefit and to the detriment of the world community.

Iran, which had violently reacted to a mass 'green' protest after the corrupt election that brought President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad back to the presidency, violently bringing order back to the country by beating, imprisoning, torturing and murdering the critics of the revolutionary council, touts itself as being the source of inspiration for the phenomenon of the Arab Spring.

Iran's Press TV (State news media) correspondent Hamed Mousavi informed the conference attendees that Khomeini's legacy "has extended to all Muslims around the world.  The fall of many dictators in the Arab world and the rise of Islamic parties have once again revitalized political Islam and have brought the teachings of Imam Khomeini into the spotlight".

Yes, they certainly have.  Iran's Republican Guard al Quds squad is right now in Syria helping President Bashar al-Assad in his murderous campaign to settle once and for all the aspirations of the Sunni majority, struggling against the imperious dictates of the Shiite (Alawite) minority regime.  But the attendees heard Sayyid Muhammad Rizvi state that Islam "is a complete code of life that can govern all aspects of society."

The operative understanding is key that this includes all society.  For this is Islamism, exemplified by Iran's leaders' push to succeed in owning a nuclear arsenal under the guise of civilian need, the better to threaten their neighbours with, the better to acquire awe and fearful respect with, the better to achieve the country's oft-stated goal of obliterating Israel with.

On its Facebook page, the student group that co-sponsored the conference, the Iranian culture Association of Carleton University, affiliated with the Carleton University Students Association, states that their main objective remains "appropriate presentation and promotion" of Iranian culture, art and civilization.
